January 10, 201610 yr Burfict didn't loose that game, Hill did. Hill is no more responsible for the loss than a lot of guys...including the offensive coordinator who opted to run th ball in the red zone with 90 seconds left instead of kneeling the ball three times and then kicking a field goal. Not a chance I pin it on Hill.
January 10, 201610 yr you guys don't realize that without him.....this team wouldn't be in the situation they were tonight "IN THE PLAYOFFS!" Bengals ran up an awful lot of wins without him this year. I bet they'd be in the playoffs even if he missed the whole year.

January 10, 201610 yr You can debate this type stuff all day long but the bottom line is the guy that needs to go is Marvin Lewis but we know that's not happening. This team has changed players, OCs and DCs but the constant and biggest reason imo that the Bengals continue to under perform in prime time is Marvin Lewis. Poor team preparation, poor clock management, poor overall team performance starts with the head coach. Stupid penalties are all part of game management and Marvin Lewis has failed miserably in all these things.

January 10, 201610 yr From a non-Bengal fan's perspective, there are lots of guys who can make the plays Burfict does. Lots of em. I'll leave it at that.

I would have taken three snaps and just tried pushing the pile.... but not just taken a knee. They were not in the red zone, I think they started the drive on the Pittsburgh 26 which would make it about a 43 yard attempt. Take a knee three times and you are looking at almost a 50 yarder.... definitely not a sure thing last night.
January 10, 201610 yr Author There is no way you will convince me other wise the Bengals wouldn't be in this position without Burfict. They can get a guy whose IQ IS above 5, that can control his "emotions" tomorrow. He's more of a liability than not.

That's why he said they weren't in range. You don't even really want to attempt a field goal. You could have punted to a corner and made Ben get into field goal range without time outs and a short clock. A missed field goal would have given them excellent shape.
January 10, 201610 yr Burfict didn't loose that game, Hill did. If Hill lost the game then McCarron lost the game and Peko lost the game and.... It's not one guy. Some are just magnified. I haven't read through the rest of this thread.....I agree with Cylde's statement, however, IMO, Marvin lost this game with a dumb decision to let Hill run the ball, instead of just taking a knee three times and kicking a field goal and forcing the Steelers to score a TD for the win.

Don't see how a punt would have been an option, unless they lost a big chunk of yardage, they had the ball inside the 30 of Pittsburgh.

Hill has to take some of the blame, Marvin isn't the RB.
January 10, 201610 yr So reading through this thread, I'm assuming all the lounge chair GM's on here that want to dump Burfict; would dump Odell Beckham for similar stupid play against Carolina?? He actually threw some punches.
January 10, 201610 yr Hill has to take some of the blame, Marvin isn't the RB. True, but I assume Marvin called the play though.
