January 4, 201610 yr Author I am fine with background checks. I am not fine with the terror watch list. Why? I am a member of the NRA.....and Hillary and Obama has both called NRA members like terrorist. I am also not fine with the route he is going. He isn't a king, you cannot circumvent Congress. Executive Orders Executive orders seem pretty common. FDR must have made one everyday with over 3000. Reagan and Bill had over 350 and W right under 300. King Obama is around 260 with a year to go. Looks like he's going to be about normal. Congress in our history tends to be pretty inept. This another topic, but president's sure have had to take a lot of unilateral action. I wonder if it has to do with no term limits and they are always worried about reelection.
January 4, 201610 yr I don't have a problem with these: “Three years ago, a bipartisan, commonsense bill would have required background checks for virtually everyone who buys a gun,” Obama said Friday. “This policy was supported by some 90 percent of the American people. It was supported by a majority of NRA households. But the gun lobby mobilized against it. And the Senate blocked it.” Existing law states those who sell guns with the “principal objective of livelihood and profit” have to get a dealer’s license through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. That means they also have to conduct a background check on buyers no matter where they sell, including online or at a gun show. What do you have no problem with? There is nothing new here...it clearly states this is Existing Law. There is nothing new mentioned in that post that I see.
January 4, 201610 yr Why didn't "common sense" gun regulation happen when Obama and the donkeys held both houses of congress?
January 4, 201610 yr Why didn't "common sense" gun regulation happen when Obama and the donkeys held both houses of congress? The gun lobby's influence doesn't extend only to the pachyderms.

January 4, 201610 yr Serious question. Does anyone object to this? And if so, why? Evidently the Senate does. Follow the money.
January 4, 201610 yr Just curious. What are some of those things they're intending? For which they should rightly be shot?

January 4, 201610 yr Just curious. What are some of those things they're intending? For which they should rightly be shot? To be sure, they stink. But shot? A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just nine percent (9%) of Likely U.S. Voters think Congress is doing a good or excellent job, unchanged from September, which was the worst positive rating since the arrival of the new Republican-led Congress in January. Fifty-nine percent (59%) now think Congress is doing a poor job, down from September but generally in line with earlier surveys. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
