Hellcats Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Obama's plan to tighten gun laws sets up rematch with powerful gun rights group NRA | Fox News The plan presented here looks relatively sensible and attainable. In fact some of the staunch BGP gun guys have said these very things. :wideyed:
John Anthony Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 The King is set to rule while his lefties are on their knees bowing.
Hellcats Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 Congress is needed on this, because these actions won't be much with just executive order.
capt278 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 He knows he will never get the gun control he and the far Left want through Congress. His own party won't back him.

Jumper_Dad Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 There are some things that I would support and I've listed them in the past. I would be against any laws that are "Feel Good" laws only, that serve only to hinder law abiding citizens and will do little if anything to prevent gun crimes or violence.

Run To State Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 There are some things that I would support and I've listed them in the past. I would be against any laws that are "Feel Good" laws only, that serve only to hinder law abiding citizens and will do little if anything to prevent gun crimes or violence. This is the problem. The president and the dems don't know anything but "Feel Good" laws that hinder law abiding citizens and do nothing to prevent gun crimes or violence.
Jumper_Dad Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 This is the problem. The president and the dems don't know anything but "Feel Good" laws that hinder law abiding citizens and do nothing to prevent gun crimes or violence.Agreed. You and I and a few others on here could develop a comprehensive updating of the gun laws that would impact gun crimes and violence more than these clowns...all without infringing on the rights of legal gun owners.
mcpapa Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 I don't have a problem with these: “Three years ago, a bipartisan, commonsense bill would have required background checks for virtually everyone who buys a gun,” Obama said Friday. “This policy was supported by some 90 percent of the American people. It was supported by a majority of NRA households. But the gun lobby mobilized against it. And the Senate blocked it.” Existing law states those who sell guns with the “principal objective of livelihood and profit” have to get a dealer’s license through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. That means they also have to conduct a background check on buyers no matter where they sell, including online or at a gun show.
Hellcats Posted January 4, 2016 Author Posted January 4, 2016 Some of you guys have mentioned these very changes. Now the president says them...it's a no?
THE SHERIFF Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Some of you guys have mentioned these very changes. Now the president says them...it's a no?The President hasn't presented a new proposal, unless I've missed something.
woodsrider Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Some of you guys have mentioned these very changes. Now the president says them...it's a no? If it's done via EO then absolutely no.
CBDV Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Some of you guys have mentioned these very changes. Now the president says them...it's a no? I am fine with background checks. I am not fine with the terror watch list. Why? I am a member of the NRA.....and Hillary and Obama has both called NRA members like terrorist. I am also not fine with the route he is going. He isn't a king, you cannot circumvent Congress.
