16thBBall Fan Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Just posted on MSN. Here's the link: Report: Nets CEO would offer ?everything under the sun? to John Calipari I personally don't think he would take it.
All State Baseball Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I believe that the day that Coach Cal leaves UK, he will be going home for good...
JDEaston Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Damn, its a little early for this isn't it? I thought this was an annual tradition for March? We just finished camp Cal, way to early for the "Cal to the NBA" rumors. He's not going anywhere.
PurplePride92 Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I thought the Kings and Cavs already offered him everything under the sun.
Pioneer.Pride Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Can't imagine why? Cal's first tour with the Nets was not exactly memorable. One and done doesn't work in the NBA.
jericho Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Don't teams in the nba go after Kansas coca or Arizonas coach
Cats3x Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Cal is too in your face to be in the NBA IMO. Can't be yelling like that at guys making $15 million. Didn't work before, wouldn't work now.

He is your face because he is dealing with freshman each year. You have to realize he probably would change it up in the NBA. He would let his players play.
The Professor Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I understand that he would make a lot more money in the NBA but he's already very rich. A multimillionaire. I wouldn't baby-sit those spoiled overpayed players for one second when I already have the world by the tail at UK---and making millions there anyway. I don't think he's intersted. Been there and done that.
Cats3x Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 He is your face because he is dealing with freshman each year. You have to realize he probably would change it up in the NBA. He would let his players play. I disagree. Hard for a tiger to change stripes. As a coach, you are what you are.
Randy Parker Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I thought the Kings and Cavs already offered him everything under the sun. Same here. I'm afraid if a team comes along and offers Cal everything under and over the sun as well, we might be in trouble.
futurecoach Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I disagree. Hard for a tiger to change stripes. As a coach, you are what you are. Agree to disagree.

He would let his players play. I doubt it, unless he went to a championship contender. Otherwise I imagine he would still coach the same as he does now. Otherwise what improvement would he be for "said" team over any other coach that's just there to collect a paycheck? That said..again. He ain't going anywhere.

Your first line says it all and I have said it for awhile. Coach Cal wont go back to the NBA just to go back. However if a team that has star players and a chance to win it all came after him, then yes he would go imo. He is not dumb, he won't leave UK just to take a chance to fail in the nba again. He will have to know he could win right away if be left.

Don't doubt for a second that Cal didn't know Lebron had intentions of going back. That said, Cal still turned down the job, with a polite thank you and I would love to coach Lebron, "but I can't turn my back in this group of kids that decided to return for another year.
