NKy Football Coaches irked at plan

Featured Replies

And you clearly are unable to understand that we don't have 500 high schools in Kentucky. Disparity won't change just because you water it down.

No, I understand it. And I understand that a majority of the head coaches in the state wanted a new system that was better at matching like sized schools in the playoffs. If you have all of the answers, apply for a coaching job, and help change it to what you want...

I see both sides. I don't like it, but do a little research, we are the 25th largest state, only a handful of states have 4 classes. Are they all wrong? There are four alternatives as I see it,

1.) Leave it alone and live with it (I'm in favor of this, but it ain't going to happen.

2.) mandate consolidations or splits in order to have a minimum and maximum number of students in a school. (I'm not in favor of because I believe each community should be able to make choices based on what they feel is best for them.)

So we are left with....

3.) Go to 6 classses or,

4.) Split the public and privates and create 8 classes. To this I am vehemently opposed.

So which is it, 1,2,3 or 4 for you?

The argument that we don't have enough teams to do this is invalid.

Is that you're mature well thought answer that you give to anyone who disagrees with you? Some can give it but sure can't take it.

I can take heat with the best on BGP. Always have. You are complaining with no answer to what the people in charge of the sport see as a major problem. The only way to get what you want is what I suggested. Who can't take it???

You suggesting that I become a head coach is equivalent to me suggesting that you become 6 foot tall. Neither is going to happen and is nothing more than a childish response.

It's no more childish than stomping your feet and throwing a tantrum over what the people running the game think is best...

I think that a fair bit of legislation would take place if you deny HHS and CCH in the same class. The birds like playing their rival and I don't see them lying down and taking one for the team. They were against the 6 class solution and still are. Why would they want to play in 3A in a 6 class system with everything we know about the Birds?

Welcome to America. Where majority rules in everything except Presidential Elections.

No one says they can't play. It just wouldn't be worth as much. Same for Beechwood and their big district rival, NewCath.

Or after the Supreme Court overrules it for being Unconstitutional.

I am sure all of those kids wearing a state championship t-shirt and patch will be overwhelmed with embarrassment because their championship is not worth as much. O wait....they won't care and will be just as proud of it as if they would have one it out of one class.

Or be worthwhile.

So the games this year against St. Francis Desales, St. Xavier or Colerain won't be worthwhile either?

Those are games that Dale uses to get ready for...CCH.

NKY schools out of step with the rest of the state.

Not surprising.

Remember Lloyd was the only school that voted for Prop 20 that was overwhelmingly passed by the HS's in this state.

Were out of step with the rest of the state on many issues beyond high school athletics...

Just applying the logic that the CovCath game would no longer be "worthwhile" to other non-district games.

Maybe they could move CovCath to earlier in the season and use it as a way to get ready for Spencer County or Western Hills.

I think you're missing the point. Basically, if the winner of the CCH/HHS game doesn't determine the 1 and 2 seed as well as the district winner...it's not as worthwhile...
