It IS NOT BAD For Northern KY. It is CHANGE for Northern Kentucky and there appears to lie the objection. With the draft, it appears that 12 or more N KY teams will make the playoffs. As per usual, they will be dominant in their classes as they year in and year out, week in and week out, play the most solid football. So more Northern Kentucky kids proving that the excellent youth programs and excellent high school coaching can yield more excellent results. Doesn't sound like its anything bad?

I guess if winning cupcake games and not having to achieve as much to win a title is what ya' like, it's not bad at all. But I'd say there are few or no teams in NKY with that poor mindset.

When we win the first 5A state championship in 2007 I'll be OK. Not as satisfied as I would be with a snickers, but deffinetly Milky Way quality.

Move back up to 6A in 2011 and do it again.

We are going to 6 behind the same thoughts that brought us 4. Do you not notice the rise in KY football with more teams able to compete in their own class? Football is better than ever in this state, and going to 4 classes over 3 is a big part of this rise. So as you can see, it's a joke of an argument, and an uninformed one at that. I expect that from Gamble, but maybe Skinner was just trying to fill the "shock jock" quota on the show with Gamble out of studio. Most try to evolve, not go in reverse...

I think 6 classes and 4 spot move are apples and oranges. I would rather have all teams in and keep the same classes. I can live with that, atleast teams who win the titles will have earned it to a great extent.

 

To me this a move like splitting public and private, and has nothing to do with the 4 teams playoff rule. The 4 team play off rule did not water down competition. More often than not the best team usually won.

I wish that CCH and HHS would move up to 5A. It would make a heck of a district! Much more competitive than what any of them have now on their own in 3, 4 or 5A. Dixie can't move down, so I invite you guys to move up. :thumb:

 

If the schools give this the OK, then IMO, everyone should play in the class they are placed in. If you go through the trouble of classifying the schools, but then let them play in any class they want, why bother classifying at all. Just everyone play in their class for the first few years of this thing, then see how it stands and make changes as needed.

I think that a fair bit of legislation would take place if you deny HHS and CCH in the same class. The birds like playing their rival and I don't see them lying down and taking one for the team. They were against the 6 class solution and still are. Why would they want to play in 3A in a 6 class system with everything we know about the Birds?

You are clearly not able to undersyand the problem with size disparity in a 4 class system, so I'm done with you...

And you clearly are unable to understand that we don't have 500 high schools in Kentucky. Disparity won't change just because you water it down.

I see both sides. I don't like it, but do a little research, we are the 25th largest state, only a handful of states have 4 classes. Are they all wrong? There are four alternatives as I see it,

1.) Leave it alone and live with it (I'm in favor of this, but it ain't going to happen.

2.) mandate consolidations or splits in order to have a minimum and maximum number of students in a school. (I'm not in favor of because I believe each community should be able to make choices based on what they feel is best for them.)

So we are left with....

3.) Go to 6 classses or,

4.) Split the public and privates and create 8 classes. To this I am vehemently opposed.

 

So which is it, 1,2,3 or 4 for you?

The argument that we don't have enough teams to do this is invalid.
