I am confused with the whole Highlands situation. I was comparing numbers, and it does not match up. In Sandman32's list he has just about everyone right....except Highlands, Taylor Co, and Mason Co. He has them in 4a with 9 schools behind them.

However the KHSAA has them in 3a, but those 9 "smaller schools in 4a.

Unless the numbers a that different I dont know.

The KHSAA is using 409 for HHS.

Question: How long will you have to play up if you so choose? For example, if you want to play up are you stuck up? Will they allow schools to change every 3, 5 years...never?

I don't see any postives except some schools can feel good about themselves for doing nothing.

Football will be turning into what the slow pitch softball tournament has been.

Who cares if you win a state title against so few teams.

If he wants to use the coaches comments to dismiss it, where does he come up with 3 classes???

Maybe its the same educated opinion alot of outsiders have of the state of KY. We are spreading a very small pool of schools to thin.

We are going to 6 behind the same thoughts that brought us 4. Do you not notice the rise in KY football with more teams able to compete in their own class? Football is better than ever in this state, and going to 4 classes over 3 is a big part of this rise. So as you can see, it's a joke of an argument, and an uninformed one at that. I expect that from Gamble, but maybe Skinner was just trying to fill the "shock jock" quota on the show with Gamble out of studio. Most try to evolve, not go in reverse...

Depends on who you ask. ;)

I heard they used my numbers plus the 4 years prior and averaged them. That will skew what I had big time. Not sure why they did it that way, but that is the way they did it.

They used two figures: Last year and the previous year - averaged those two.

ok, one of the articles I read mentioned avgeraging four years as the basis. But I will bow you on this one.

Check out the link I provided earlier. You can see from looking at the first line tht the number used is the average of the two years displayed.

That link you gave is dead on the money, its 36 in 6a, 5a, 4a, 3a. 37 in 2a, and 39 in 1a.

Maybe some schools will be re-examining the "Oak Hill" option that was discussed here a while back.

The current (6A) plan is bad for NKY, bad for most of the state and bad for any team that really wants to EARN it's state trophy. But those are not the same people that came up with this awful plan.

What is bad for the rest of the state? If you want more teams in the playoffs, as most of the KFCA member coaches wanted, you have two choices. 1) more classes, 2) everyone in. In 1) you see how it would look with their draft. In 2) you deal with byes, etc. in some classes and the same coaches that whine about the draft alignment whine about the off week.

What is a better option? Since remaining in 4 is NOT what a majority of the state wants?

The documentation on the web site says that if they play up, they are up for 2007-2010.
