Could the UA and Army HS all stars beat the worst college team

Featured Replies

I believe a UA all American team would beat some of the worst D3 schools. 18 vs 22 wouldn't make a huge difference in my opinion. It's hard for me to believe that the All American players are getting that much better from the time they play in that game untill the start of their true freshman college season. And theirs been a lot of really good true freshman players this year. I'll take a all american highschool team of Josh Rosen, Myles Gaskin, and Calvin Ridley all dominant true freshman vs a 0-10 D3 Trinity Bible Study team any day of the week.

Albeit a 21 year old true freshman............lol. What a joke.

Last night LSU played a FR. kid named Arden Kelly at DE...he's a true FR who stands 6-6 231 and played all year against SEC players...he dominated last night. You're going to have a hard time convincing me that Campbellsville (a good team this year) could have blocked that kid 6 months ago.

Tennessee is going to start a kid named Chance Hall at Right Tackle. He's started for the last six games against SEC players and UT was very good at running the ball this year. He's 6-4 318...again, you're going to have a hard time convincing me that Campbellsville could have generated a pass rush or held up in the run game against that kid 6 months ago.

I'm a fan of small college ball, and I've been to quite a few of their games...but they do not have guys that can hold up against the elite of the elite coming out of HS...and those transfer guys are transfer guys for a reason. They may run a 4.4 but can't turn their hips to save their life. They may be 6'7 295 but can't pass block to save their life.

...and I fully admit, some of these HS guys that I'm touting, will actually end up being those transfer guys, but as a whole, I'll take the elite (Army/Under Armor AA Games guys) High School players over the small non-full scholarship teams.

Could they beat the worst small college team? Yes, yes they could and probably would.

Dark Horse78 mentioned D I transfers going to smaller schools. True, they are doing that and you can find a lot of them filtering down to the lower levels, but they aren't going to the bad programs to play or the "elite" smart places places like Centre.

Several of those freshman will play as true freshman at elite D I schools in the fall...think Alabama, Oklahoma, etc. Some will red shirt as freshman at elite D I schools but would start out of the gate at places like UK. Many of the others will be playing immediately at lesser D I schools. The overall talent pool would be much much greater than some little bad DIII program. So yes, yes they could and probably would win.

Worst Div 1 team, I'd say no.

Worst (Whatever EKU is in) team, doubtful but maybe.

Any lower level yeah I think they would.

It would depend on how long they had to work together.

EKU is D-I. They are FCS. The SEC etc is D-I FBS.

Right, there is no Div 1AA anymore correct? It's now FCS.

Correct. They did away with the American A and AA designation.

If given a couple months to prepare, the AA team could with zero doubt beat the bottom level of FBS and most of FCS IF they had a high end QB that year. Just too big and too fast at the elite HS level for the lower level D1 teams to deal with IF you had a Jameis Winson, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck type kid playing QB.

Remember these are the bulk of the future NFL picks 4 and 5 years from now, and as has been mentioned above they are coming in to college with massive size and elite speed...

No high school team can beat a college team with 85 full scholarships. NEVER.

The worst college team would not be above DIII

Not even a team consisting of the 85 best high school players in the country? I disagree. They wouldn't beat the really good teams, but there are plenty of even FBS teams that they'd beat IMO.

Skill wise would be no concern, up front is where the elites may struggle. Even though you are now seeing more true freshman play on the OL and DLs.

UNC Charlotte was the weakest FBS team this year. Could they have beaten them with a month of pre-season practice together?

The high school all-star teams could beat the bottom 5 or 10 FCS schools, without a doubt in my mind. These are 4 and 5 star players playing against teams with 1 and 2 star players, with a few 3 star guys thrown in.

I don't think they could just line up and pound it home, but they would have the athletes in space to beat those teams by 2 or 3 scores. Period.

They could beat half of the FCS teams. And they would beat just about every D-II and D-III school. And they would destroy pretty much every NAIA team.

The only catch would be game prep. You would have to allow for the teams to have an adequate time to prep, as if they were an actual team. Couldn't throw it together in a week and go with that. Give both teams a month, and I'll take the HS UA team over Charlotte, New Mexico State, Idaho and the bottom feeders like that. These are teams that get blown away by top level teams, and would have to play the guys going to those top level teams.

My money would be on the UA team every time against the bottom 5 teams, no matter the year. Period.

I watched some of the Shrine bowl over the holiday which featured the best players from NC-SC. Even those teams (combined) would beat some of the lowly D-III and non-scholarship teams, and even though they had some very highly ranked/recruited players, it's not the over best the country has to offer as far as talent. And each offensive line averaged 300 pounds.
