Some of the above are ridiculous, but overall, I support LOWERING the standards for the death penalty. While I do believe that either eye witness testimony or dna evidence should be the conviction standard, I see no reason why the death penalty should not be expanded to non lethal violent crimes, especially in the case of repeat offenders. It costs about $12,000 for public university tuition per year. It costs about $40,000 per year per inmate to incarcerate. I'd rather spend the money on those that have the potential to contribute to society.

Pretty much everything I've seen says that death penalty cases are more expensive than life in prison.

And you can't undo the death penalty if there is a wrongful conviction. Lowering the bar increases the chances of an innocent person being put to death.

I just can't fathom how that would be true.

I say death penalty to all child sex offender of a kid 10 and under.

Do it asap and help rid the world of scum and save our kids and money.

In how it is administered in this country with rounds of appeals, I could see that. So, Sharia Law has that going for itself, which I presume has more swift and quick punishment. Plus we could transition from using check marks to utilizing skull and crossbones. That's pretty gangster.

These Sharia Law scare-o-grams are ridiculous. Do you have any idea how many Muslims it would take to enact that kind of change to our legal system/Constitution? This is just fear mongering.

25 years ago, had you said that Sharia Law was coming, I'd have thought we were gonna go see a stripper.

Word

Muslims make up about 1% of the US population.

Here is what you can expect.

I ain't expecting it.

I just can't fathom how that would be true.

From what I understand it's mostly related to the lengthy and more complicated court process involved. Many appeals and the steps involved to ensure the defendant is truly guilty.

So Hillary Clinton is a goner.

I count 9 offenses against her.
