July 20, 200620 yr Clayton was 6-14 going into today since the trade with 2 BB. Not to shabby just not up to our standards. Clayton has been better than Felipe...
July 20, 200620 yr Maybe he should have ran out to right and caught the can of corn. He has given up 4 runs in 2.0 innings.
July 20, 200620 yr I wonder if Kearns will snicker at the highlight (lowlight) of Denorfias gaff? I wish he'd cover his socks to his ankle, if you're gonna look like a goon, you gotta make that play.
July 20, 200620 yr IF he is ready to play everyday I could understand giving up Kearns but not if he is not ready. Freel should get the majority of time in RF anyway.

July 20, 200620 yr He has given up 4 runs in 2.0 innings. Well after 2 innings he is a total flop. Now that's a quality sample. Bob Wickman gave up 6 runs in 1 inning. Of course he had a 5 run lead.
July 20, 200620 yr Clayton was 6-14 going into today since the trade with 2 BB. Not to shabby just not up to our standards. Clayton was at one point in his career, the annoited successor to Ozzie Smith in St. Louis. Since then, he has been a journeymen SS with a good glove and below average bat for an everyday player. Castro is just as good or better in terms of defense and offensively they are one in the same. More importantly, we already had Castro a couple of weeks ago. Clayton will cool off soon and show why he is what he is.
July 20, 200620 yr Well after 2 innings he is a total flop. Now that's a quality sample. Bob Wickman gave up 6 runs in 1 inning. Of course he had a 5 run lead. Since when did I ever push for Bob Wickman?

There's no comparison between Wickman and Bray/Majewski. Anybody would take the latter if given the chance, it just depends on how much it cost and is it really worth it?
July 20, 200620 yr Clayton will cool off soon and show why he is what he is. He's above .270 over his last 1200+ AB's since the start of 2004...
July 20, 200620 yr There's no comparison between Wickman and Bray/Majewski. Anybody would take the latter if given the chance, it just depends on how much it cost and is it really worth it? Didn't Wickman come out to the Queen song against Cincy last time?..... We will, We will walk you!
July 20, 200620 yr Hmmmmm....I wonder where HSSB is...looks like he hasn't been here since 11'ish or so...what time did this game start 1pm?? hmmmm??   Might I also add that this thread is about as exciting as watching a baseball game on TV or in person!! :fire: :fire: :fire: :fire: :walk:  :walk:  :walk:
July 20, 200620 yr Stark, are we going to talk about what these guys have done for their career or what they have done since the trade. You want to discount Clayton because he has been a good offensive player in the past and not give Majewski and credit for his performance last year and this year with the Nationals. Last year he had a 2.93 ERA and gave up 80 hits in 86 innings. This year with the Nats he was 3.58 and 49 hits in 55.1 innings. Both better than our existing bullpen and on par with Bob "heads up in the bleachers" Wickman.
