September 5, 200620 yr Ok? I get tired of everyone piling on Narron. What if he brings in Cormier and he gives up the HR. It would then be Narron's fault as well, right? Harang made a horrible pitch to one of the best hitters ever. That's on him. Is it Narron's fault they left ELEVEN men on base? Accountability has to fall on the players at some point...
September 5, 200620 yr Too late to deal? Bah! The Reds have acquired right-hander Sun-Woo Kim and cash from the Rockies for "future considerations." He takes the 40-man spot of Michael Gosling, who was designated for assignment. Mr. Kim will wear uniform No. 64 (I think Rick Stowe's running out) when he joins the team. Not sure yet what they plan to do with him. He made six relief appearances for the Rockies this year, but all of his Class AAA outings (17 of 'em) were starts. Could he be tomorrow night's mystery starter?

Thats Narron's job to match up hitters and pitchers. Why leave Harrang out there, and not bring in a lefty? And no its not Narrons fault they left 11 on base.

Harang was right at 100 pitches, and he was throwing well all day. There is no reason to take him out at that point. He's your ace, and it's his job to throw a better pitch. Do you really have more faith in anyone in that pen to do the job over the best pitcher on the team???

Because Harang was pitching a great game, his pitch count was relatively low, and had done a good job with Bonds the whole game. There was no reason to take him out.

I ripped Narron for leaving Milton on the mound to face Beltran but here I won't because it is a different scenario. Harang is not Milton and does not give up homeruns at the same rate. Harang is your ace and best pitcher and was not overworked. Bonds while dangerous is not Beltran. I have no problem with Harang facing Bonds and would have preferred Harang at 100 pitches over ANY OTHER pitcher on the Reds present staff. Now, bring up and bring in Homer and that is a different story. :sssh:

I think a rested Bray would be better than Harrang at 100 pitches..in that situation, and I would tell him to throw nothing but outside breaking balls so if he hits it...he doesnt hit it out.

You are more comfortable with a 23 year old rookie over Harang? I have nothing else to say... :walk:
