Ohmer will fill it up again and Mason will have ample oppertunites to score because, all early indications show Scott can't guard a fence post. They play each game as who can get the most points as opposed to stopping the other team from scoring.

I think we need to throw all the statistics out of the way for a minute and look at the BIG matchup in this game. Possibly the best scoring guard in the region in Ohmer, against the best defensive guard in the region IMO in Pig Williams. Whoever wins this matchup wins the game. Ohmer can flat out play, but I've seen Pig lockdown some of the best offensive players in the state last season, so I'll take the Royals by 4.

Haven't been able to see everyone play this season, but yeah IMO he's by far the best, just didn't want to offend anyone.

I don't know if it's fair to say Scott can't play defense. I think their problem is that they put so much pressure on the ball, many times they foul. Look at the FT's made from their opponents and you will see a huge number. They did much better the other night against Harrison County, but again they fouled a lot. So, as time goes on I would think they'll be okay.

Agree 100%. I have seen them play and they played a very fast running game. I am sure that Coach Biggs knows that they can play defense and will have a game plan for it. Ohmer is a special player. He is not selfish with the ball at all and involves his teammates, but when the game is on the line he can take over a game. I really enjoyed watching him and Scott play.Very well coached team.

I guess it all depends on the situation. The Scott PC game for example was a shootout that went to OT In those situtions it may be that the teams are focused more on putting up point to get the W as opposed to "D"ing up and preventing a score.

I just find it insulting to the kids for any team who are on the floor busting their butts for our enjoyment to jump to the conclusion they don't play defense because the scores are high.

 

If teams didn't play defense there wouldn't be so many fouls & FTs, right?

 

I haven't seen anyone play "lockdown" D on the high school level in a long time.

 

It might be just me, but I'd rather see teams get up & down the floor putting up points than see 40 points by winning team.

Can you really blame kids on this one? What if it is how Scott runs their offense, every game ive seen they've ran a really fast paced offense...
