It's a rule. It should be enforced properly especially by a top crew worthy of the assignment.

Well one of the most unbelievable things is that SOMEONE on the crew did not know the rule. You could maybe understand one official not knowing the rule and calling it a TD and then they get together and discuss it and someone speaks up. Maybe that did happen and he was over-ruled?

My question is whether the punting team loses the opportunity to close out the play (1) after the ball strikes member of receiving team and (2) after it then goes into end zone. Rules say that the punting team may recover the ball after it hits a member of the receiving team. Correct?
