Why or why didn't you attend the state finals games?

The 1A game was a very entertaining football game and hopefully they all will be that engaging.

True. I'm more of a basketball guy than football guy. If I don't have a vested interest in the football teams playing then I'm not going to travel to watch them. I'd travel across the state to watch Murray play Paducah Tilghman in basketball in December if work or the wife don't stop me.

If Trinity is not involved it is hard to convince the wife why I need to be at 6 games, especially since it isn't in Louisville.

She loves football, but it is hard for her to get excited about a random team she has never heard of.

When they were in Louisville it was much easier to get away with.

Is this the first time in awhile they've been in Columbus? I was thinking they were played in Canton and split between two locations?
2ND year in a row on Columbus.

Gotcha. How have the crowds been? It's more centrally located, but definitely a much bigger stadium.

I agree the cost of admission is too much for high school but wouldn't stop me form going.

Way the games are scheduled and location will. Being in NKY it is far, especially when 4 days.

I watched for updates on BGP last night for Beechwood.

I would have to look to be 100% sure but overall they were up last year, compared to the year before, when they were in Mass/Canton.

I will look at the numbers for this year, compared to last year n Columbus.

Most think they will have a large drop this time around.

Most have said prices, parking, concession and Columbus driving is horrendous, on a good day.

I'll be the first to admit it. If my team isn't involved I ain't going.

Travel expenses aside (I wouldn't go if the games were in Louisville) I hate being out in cold weather and there's no way I do it for teams I have no attachment to.

Throw in the fact that because of the set-up of the 6A tournament the game is very likely to be over by halftime no way am I driving 2 hour to watch it.

Official numbers from game one yesterday, compared to the same Div game played last season. Which was a rematch of the game from last season.

A post from my Ohio brother, who took in 97 games this season.

NJ, tickets were $12 each per day, one ticket to watch all the games. Parking was $10 (a little pricy, but it's New Jersey). For 10 games, the total cost was $66 for parking and tickets to see 10 games for 2 people.

Michigan was $10/ticket per/day and $10 parking (to be right next to the stadium), making total cost $60 for 8 games.

Texas, is $15/ticket per/day and $10 parking, making a total cost of $120 for 10 games.

Iowa at UNI-Dome is $10/ticket per/session for semifinals (12 games in 3 days, Thursday is two sessions, Friday and Saturday are one session all day), plus $5 parking each day for a total of $95.

Pennsylvania, meanwhile, has four games over two days. Friday is 2pm and 7pm while Saturday is 12pm and 5pm at the same venue (Hersheypark Stadium). Tickets are $7 each, and they allow admission to the night game with your ticket stub from the first game. Parking for the games is free. Total price for two people: $28.

West Virginia has free parking, and a game Friday night, a game Saturday at noon, and a game Saturday night at 7pm. Each game is $8 (I've been told) and parking is free. Total for two people: $48.

Meanwhile, Ohio has 7 games, for either $84 or $105/ticket. If you don't want to walk all the way back to your car between games or linger outside, the $105 ticket is yours. So, two people is $225 for 7 games, or $32+ for each game.

Ohio decided to make it a money grab when moving to Columbus. And it's worked. People are still paying the higher prices. So, I can't imagine when it moves elsewhere the ticket prices will drop. Even with the lower cost venues.

Halftime, you really are giving the Generals a ton of credit. I would say by the end of the first quarter.

The drive is the biggest factor for me. I drive at least 100 miles a day at work, and the last thing I want to do on an off day is drive 7+ hours roundtrip with having to work the next morning. I attended all the NewCath state finals when they were in the Ville, and only attended the 2012 victory over Caldwell Co. since the move to BG.

I will be following BGP and watching online this year.

This.

I've been to Bowling Green twice for one full day of games. I really enjoyed it. If you can find a way to get yourself access to that indoor concourse on the new side of the stadium, it can be a downright pleasant day.

Agree...

The drive is the biggest thing for me. I remember getting home 1 year at 4:45 A.M. with no stops after 1 of our trips to Bowling Green. The game before us I believe went into OT so it delayed our game 40-45 mins. Don't get me wrong, Love being in B.G. watching my team play, but the next day is pretty much ruined for me.....
