Did they clear the stadium after every game at WKU?

It is interesting how many complained about the schedule this weekend in Bowling Green, but only one of the Championships had a decrease in attendance from the corresponding class championship from last year.

 

Class A was down from 6333 to 5726 or 607 people down 9.6%

Class 2A was up from 6188 to 6253 or 65 people or up 1.1%

Class 3A was up from 6139 to 7198 or 1059 people or up 17.3%

Class 4A was up from 7521 to 8461 or 940 people or up 12.5%

Class 5A was up from 7338 to 7755 or 417 people or up 5.7%

Class 6A was up from 8418 to 8629 or 211 people or up 2.5%

 

Overall attendance was up for 41937 to 44022 or 2085 people or 5.0%

 

Red game was played on Thursday night

Green games were played on Sunday

Blue games were played on Saturday

Yes

Didn't go, and as stated from another thread. The problem with WKU is it doesn't fit the bill for any of the standards for the overwhelming majority of state finals nationally. As a matter of fact, the only argument I really hear in favor is it is a "quaint stadium with a good environment." Throughout America, state championships are played at:

1. Premiere venue in the state. X Louisville and Lexington are head & shoulders more premier venues.

2. Centrally located. X - Not even the same time zone as majority of the state. Major travel inconvenience for EKY & NKY.

3. Historic venue X.

 

The fact now there is NO guarantee for date consistency, I see no way the KHSAA can continue games at WKU and hold any credibility for serving it's overall association. For those who love, "The KHSAA is a business," argument, by definition it is an association with KY high schools. For any team, students, parents, fanbases, etc. to get home at 3-4 am or later on a Monday morning following a championship game is completely outrageous.

I noticed somebody else said yes, but we stayed in after the Mayfield game and watched a homicide take place on the field until halftime of the Belfry game. I expected someone to run us out, but we noticed the Lex Cath fans taking a seat in the bleachers during the trophy presentation.

There is no comparison between watching a game on TV vs actual attendance. The dun of planning the trip, tailgating, talking the game up with other fans, and the excitement in the air before during, and if you win, after the game, is worth the price of admission IMO.

 

60 inch flat screen, no 7 hour round trip drive, eats and drinks at my finger tips, & bathroom feet away.....hard to pass up.

 

BTW, the streaming quality was AWESOME.

I was at the Hoopfest in Marshall County and the only game I was remotely interested in was Sunday night. It's hard for working people to pull that off.

 

As for watching online, I wouldn't pay $10 to watch a high school game under any circumstance. I would actually put a $10 bill in a shredder before I would pay it to watch an online high school game.

My team lost. Plus most of the games were going to be non-competetive.

What was the weather compared to last year?

The reasons I didn't go are simple.

 

1. I was afraid that a bad call from an official would taint one teams win or loss.

2. I didn't have a team there.

3. (And most important) My wife said no!!!!!

4. Had to work.

Also which schools made it? Maybe some schools travel a little better than others.
