Not many. Most of Pats int's were thrown behind or over the intended receiver. A couple were just thrown directly to the opponent.

You were the one commenting in the update thread how good UK's offense was looking early in the game! How did it end up with Barker ?

 

Barker threw for one less yard in the second half than I did. That's how it ended up.

This program is still so thin with quality and depth at the o-line any pro style (pocket) qb will struggle.

 

Until that is corrected and more play makers are added to the receiving , Uk needs to recruit dual threat qb's.

 

UK needs to think of Cobb when they go looking for their next qb. No way I would want my pro style qb son to go to UK.

Barker struggled when the primary receiver wasn't open. He stops looking downfield and shows panic in the pocket. Best example is Badet at the end of the half. Wide open but Barker can't extend the play. Towles had consistency problems with accuracy all season. if neither guy has Boom in the backfield they are hurting.

If I were a current UK commit I would seriously reconsider my options and open up my recruitment again. This is a dysfunctional coaching staff they have right now and a team that lacks discipline IMO.

Not a chance SK has a great qb coach in Roy Lucas Jr.

Balls that are thrown behind or over the head of a WR typically are a result of bad footwork and mechanics. When you have DL and LB's bearing down on you every play and no confidence in your line this happens. I don't care if you are Tom Brady. If your mind is blown because you know you are going to get destroyed every time you drop back and your WR are likely to drop your pass, then what else do you have as a QB. Oh not to mention a moron calling offensive plays over on the sidelines.

Agree! What do they say, "act like you've been there before". Two more examples were Garret Johnson catching a very nice ball thrown by Barker for the first down on the 3rd play of the game, and you have to do some kind of shimy shake dance move. Whatever. Your team is 5-6 at that point. And then on Barker's TD run and he has to spank something or roll some dice, what the heck! Again, UK was 5-6.

 

Now, UK is 5-7. Bet there was plenty of dancing going around after the game! It's pathetic really but you know what, Stoops let's that junk happen!

Man, I watched every game, and to read this thread without that benefit, you'd swear that Towles play wasn't an issue that it was the system, the OC, the head coach, the RB sitation, the OL, something. I have no angst against Towles at all, and this team is subpar from the top to the bottom, but he didn't play well this season, bottom line. Barker doesn't appear in his short time to be an upgrade. I know we have posters on this site who are very close to these kids and I mean no disrespect at all. But if I had a chance to upgrade over either/both, I'd do it in a blink. As a fan, another season with Towles under center doesn't inspire much hope for me. Just being honest.
