I've seen nothing from Drew that says Pat can't beat him out again next year if he chooses to stay. Both have a Lot of room for improvement.

He's a freshman and Alabama won't have to have an elite QB back there to win it all this year IMO (because OSU is likely out of playoff). Coker was there last year and knows the system better. Plus he's more mature than the other QBs, no need to throw a guy out there like Barnett just yet. Coker is a safe start for Bama

That is sort of my point. There isn't much pressure to be Bamas QB when you're handing the ball to Henry. I don't know what kind of player Barnett is whether he is a pro style or a running threat. But if we talented to go out there and make plays when he isn't handing the ball off, I would think he would be out there. I understand Coker is safe, but using the same logic Towles would start if he went to Bama because he has experience against SEC defenses and Saban watches tape he would see the mediocre O line he is playing behind.

You made it sound like Barker was going to be the savior for horrible offense that UK has had all season. It turns out he was no better considering the o-line and receivers that Pat had to deal with!

 

The offense was done when Boom left the game. He erases a lot of offensive deficiencies.

What do you mean by no better? How many times did he give the ball to the other team, versus how many times did Pat give the ball to the other team in his limited play?

 

I'm not saying Barker is a world beater at this point, but the team looks better under his control. Yes they looked like garbage in the second half today and I'm being nice by using the word garbage, as I don't want suspended. But a lot of that had to do with two things, Boom and JoJo went out and UL made a qb change.

 

Yes Barker made some mistakes, but how many turnovers did he have? He throws a nice ball, but as the wheels fell off you could see that it also effected his confidence.

 

That said, neither are great qb's at the moment, but IMO Barker has more potential and should be the qb going forward. Towles has had plenty of time to show us what he's about and improve on the things he does not do well. He hasn't shown any improvement IMO.

4 or 5 star QB as a son, UK has a really good offensive line class coming in.

Good question. Change of scenery. IF he went to Bama that would definitely boost his confidence quite a bit. The talent at those practices.. The 3rd stringers he'd be playing against in practice would be better skilled than what UKs first team has :lol2:
