Who else do you root for?

Featured Replies

Any NKY team in the playoffs.

St. X because I want Highlands to have more state titles than Trinity.

Pulaski SW because LN met some really nice people there last year.

Thanks Henry, and I'll return the favor for Highlands. Also with my buddy Commando I'll have to go with the three local teams (Southwestern, Pulaski Co. & Somerset) along with Boyle Co. and Danville. Can't root for everyone but have meet and talked to a lot of great folks from all the teams that Southwestern has played over the years including Bell Co. and Rockcastle Co. As always LN, Henry, RTS are always welcome to our place anytime......................LTW.

I kind of figured that

Hey I didn't say it was necessary to grow up....:D :ylsuper:

BTW...I am all for someone wanting to be a homer for their team...I just don't believe in living vicariously through a team!

What, who me, live vicariously through my team, Never.   :sssh: :D

Hey, your ok by me Henry :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

St. Agnes Saints.

Oh my gosh I can't believe we agree on something!( we were the Aggies when I played)

Oh, and before my Danville buddies get mad at me, I root for them as long as they aren't playing a NKY team.:ylsuper:

Conner is the team that I root for the most due to having 2 sons graduate from there. After the Cougars, I also root for Boone Co. and Ryle since they are in the same County as the Cougars plus I've known a number of their players over the years as a youth coach in various sports in the past.

I also root for Beechwood, CovCath and Highlands here in NKY as well as usually one of the local teams that always seem to come from nowhere to have an awesome season such as last season's Campbell County team and Ludlow the past couple of years.

This season will be bittersweet for me since for the first time in 12 years I no longer will have a son playing the game I came to love as a young man growing up in West Tennessee. Further, I have to go up to Detroit to work for awhile and will likely be traveling on Friday evenings to return home. I guess I'll have to catch a few JV games on Saturday mornings.

1a Mayfield

2a Mercer Co

3a Boyle Co

4a Warren Central

Go Ads all the way!:thumb:

I root for all NKY and Louisville teams since I am living right now about half way between. I like to follow the underdogs though.

Class A: Evangel Christian, NCC

Class AA: No One

Class AAA: LexCath, Rockcastle, Boyle, Highlands

Class AAAA: Dunbar (of course), Trinity, Male, Lexington. Aw heck, 4A is just great. I love it.

I forgot to mention Louisville Central, they have had some teams with alot of heart over the years. Not to mention more talent than most of the other teams in Louisville(yes I said it), if they had the right coach I would not be surprised if they'd had a title by now.

Nobody pulls for Russell except to get beat,,,,, and thats okay. Just makes it better when they win. As for me.. Raceland and Fairview because they are close, Ashland when they are not playing Russell and would love to see Greenup with a first round win of the playoffs too.

Maybe you should read the whole thread.

Lots of teams besides Boyle Co. Here's the list, hope I havn't lelf anyone out.

Danville, the other half of Title Town::banana:

Lincoln Co.,live there.

Mercer Co., work there.

Bell Co.,had live there.

Southwestern, have friends there.

Scott Co., Went to school there.Well it was Grorgetown back then.

Garrard Co.,local team

Casey Co.,just down the road fron me.

Now Danville Plays Southwestern 1st game of season. Who do I pull for in this one?:D

Lexington Lafayette is where my loyalty stands. Besides that, pull for Lexington Catholic, enjoy watching Boyle Co football, Mayfield Cardinals, Paducah Tilgham, Graves Co, Owensboro Sr. , Paul Lawrence Dunbar and I do not mind seeing a good Jeff Co schools compete and win state titles including the St. X or Trinity. Sometime in everyones lifetime, your going to see superior competition. Its good for everyone.

By now, everybody knows that BGHS is my #1 team (sic 'em, Purple!!!).

I also pull for these teams:

Franklin-Simpson (I'm a member of a four-generation Wildcat Football family!)

Warren Central

Warren East (now that my friend Ben Bruni runs the show there)

Russellville (good friends with John Myers)

Monroe County (I have some distant relatives there in Eighty-Eight)

Hopkinsville (I have a good friend or two there and the series with BGHS is dynamite!)

St Xavier (we have made some great friends courtesy of the bowl game last year and hopefully more this year)

Trinity (I'll never forget their support in the 1994 3A Championship though we lost to CovCath)

Southwestern (I LOVE their fans, and I miss cammando and Mrs cammando!)

Mayfield (Toothpick made me a fan! Plus an old teammate of mine is a State Farm agent there!)

Henderson Co (All Thumbs...need I say more here?)

Belfry (GREAT people there!)

Highlands (normally I wouldn't root for them, but I have made too many good friends from there [birdsfan, Oldbird, jbwill, Leatherneck, my family doctor Dr. Jim Burt])

Manual (their history is great and the RAM brothers have been great to me!)

Covington Catholic (their fans were very classy and respectful in their victory over us in 1994, plus Colonel Crazy is my little buddy here!)

These are in no particular order except for F-S and Warren Central. I do root for others as well, but these are the most preeminent.

:D
