Who else do you root for?

Nobody pulls for Russell except to get beat,,,,, and thats okay. Just makes it better when they win. As for me.. Raceland and Fairview because they are close, Ashland when they are not playing Russell and would love to see Greenup with a first round win of the playoffs too.

I pullled for Russell last year as I wanted to see Coach McGlone get another title AND most of the teams I cheer for are not in 2A! :thumb:

Interesting question...

Locally, I normally root for Mayfield because I have always loved watching them play. I also root for other western side, region 1 teams to do well in the state tourny.

Getting up to state, if there are two teams with contrasting styles of play, I always root for the one that runs the ball.. that holds true for every game for me.

Lynn Camp and Williamsburg are the two schools that I root for the most other than Corbin.

- St. X

- Manual (For all my Ram fan friends)

- Bowling Green (for the PH's)

- Dixie Heights

- Highlands (Something about that cannon)

- Cov Cath & Beechwood a little

St. Agnes Saints.

In addition to Sweetwater Wildcats , I also root for the Sevier Co. Smoky Bears, and now that I live in Missouri, I will be rooting for the closest school to home, the Kickapoo Chiefs

We root for Williamsburg here, but being from Knoxville we follow the KFL teams here. Also, will be pulling for Whitley since Jim Black is the head guy there.

St. Agnes Saints.

I pull for them on a grade school level:thumb:

Any NKY team in the playoffs.

St. X because I want Highlands to have more state titles than Trinity.

Pulaski SW because LN met some really nice people there last year.

OUCH!!! :irked:

I think it is very interesting because many years ago I wouldn't have dreamed of EVER rooting for any other team besides Trinity. However because of my job I have been fortunate enough to see many teams play over many years. I realize that the kids, coaches, fans, etc..have the same passion that almost all of us do...they love their school.

Maybe it's just something happens for most us when we grow up..notice I said most ...

I will also say you just can't beat the joy in any kids eye when they have won what is to be considered a big game..but not taken anything away from the heartbreak if they have lost.

Just to clarify, I will not be rooting for St. X on Sept. 9.

I quess your right Tony, some of us never grow up. We're young at heart forever.:thumb:

St. X first. My sons attended there/played there and I graduated from a Xaverian Brother school.

At the risk of sounding too provincial, Catholic schools in the Jefferson County area second, and also Butler high school. (My wife attended Butler and their fans and teams show a lot of class, IMO.)

Third, out in the state Catholic schools because I know the sacrifices parents go through to have their child attend a Catholic school.

Fourth, the Bowling Green Purples. My son informed me that when St. X played them, they were a classy team. I felt that their fans were classy in the stands. Ditto for John Hardin.

I do not root against anyone, but I was sorely disappointed with the votes of the Jefferson County public schools, particularly Manual, in the recent public/private vote. I had really believed that St. X and Manual had a "special" relationship, particularly since St. X had been a good tenant for Manual over all these years. This has diminished my ability to cheer for those schools. (I am not trying to revive the public/private arguments here, just following the thread as to the schools I root for. Also, I probably need to get over my disappointment in those votes.)

Just to clarify, I will not be rooting for St. X on Sept. 9.

I kind of figured that

Hey I didn't say it was necessary to grow up....:D :ylsuper:

BTW...I am all for someone wanting to be a homer for their team...I just don't believe in living vicariously through a team!
