Lafayette 42 Simon Kenton 28

Not sure who started it or if it was one sided, but I did see a tweet from the Lexington Herald Leader reporter. That tweet said the SK fans are now throwing cups at Lafayette. Not sure if that happened or not can anyone confirm if it happened and what lead to it.

Lafayette must of watched the film against Ryle. They came out stopped the running game for the pioneers. The only only difference is when Ryle stopped the run SK put the ball in the air. Now I don't know why they didn't do the same last night but I believe if they did we would be talking about an SK win!

I would be willing to bet the Cooper film gave them more of an idea on how to slow down and beat SK than the Ryle film. Cooper held SK to its two lowest scoring games of the year.

Dixie has Visitors side stands

So 1 of the 4/5 mentioned have 2 sets of stands.

IMO, the issue has to do with those in stands in this discussion.

I'm not disagreeing with you - just making the point that there are other examples of high schools with this setup.

I know several schools have 2 sets. But all the ones I've been to have home team in front of home stands. Anything else is just asking for trouble, imo

I was there the entire time and I didn't see one thing thrown at the lafayette players. What the big joke is here is everyone is still caught up talking about the positioning of the benches, and classlessness of certain teams instead of the GREAT game that was played on the field. This game was exciting to the end. Seeing how big and fast lafayette was was worth the price of admission. Woods and Alstatt can straight out fly! The big boys for lafayette were no joke I thought SK would wear them down they did not. I also feel SK was running up the gut better than around the edge. I stated before the #5 lafayette kid was everywhere on the edge sk couldnt block him.

Yeah that's the tweet I saw. Not sure why he would tweet that if it didn't happen

I was at the game as well and stayed until the trophy presentation. I have no dog in this fight and attended because it was the best game on the schedule Friday night in NKY. It certainly lived up to that on the field. Both teams should be proud to have made it that far and to have given the paying fans what they deserved, which was a great football game.

As for the incident that everyone is talking about, I was standing on the fence near the concession stand and did notice the ruckus. Have no clue how it started or who started it. I did see SK fans at the fence yelling at the sidelines and I did notice the sideline engaging them back. I also saw some cups/ debris flying from the stands. Both sides are to blame and showed poor judgment in the matter.

In addition, an SK fan to my right was quick to use the words "win with class" prior to, during, and after the ruckus. All the while screaming out several times to the young men on the field "enjoy your win now, you will get your back side (insert expletive) kicked next week against Male."

I have witnessed plenty of out of control South Kenton fans. It seems they have grown into out of control Simon Kenton fans.

Great, that clears up the cups being thrown.

And people say I am over the top? I had nothing to do with any of it. I seen it all go down. I know some fans yelled at the head coach to get his team in line and some fans went crazy. But none of it would have happen if the players would have been paying attention to the game and not messing with the student section and other fans.

Where was the "get back" guy during all this? :idunno:

I do know the coaches told the players to watch the game several times. But they kept yapping at the fans.

Or if Lafayette's bench was in front of Lafayette's crowd.
