Great high school football game. Similar to Highlands SC game last year it was a tale of two halves. After HHS jumped out to a lead in the first half PC responded like the champions they are and owned the second half.

 

Good luck to PC next week as you try to repeat. Hope every one has a safe drive home.

 

Birds, thank you for fighting all year. You continued to improve throughout the season and opened some eyes today. Well done. Thanks to all the seniors for your hard work and all the excitement you've given us. Good luck in your futures.

Think if the game would have been at 7:00 with rain there would have been a different outcome? I would think rain would help the birds? Probably not in the long run, PC adjusted, H did not, that's the story.

Agreed. The surprise to me wasn't that PC scored but that the Birds were shut down in the second half.

Great job by Pulaski. #2 was a huge difference maker for the Maroons. Awesome performance young man. We wish you and your team success.

Got to watch one heckuva football game at David Cecil this afternoon. Congrats to the Maroons on making some great adjustments at the half and having the poise to chip away at the bird lead and pull away in the 2nd half.

 

Hats off to the Birds on a very good second half to their season. Be good to yourselves bird seniors. You boys have nothing to hang your heads over. Pulaski Co is an excellent football team! :thumb:

Once the Maroons got the momentum, it seems as if the Birds played too tentatively and could not take it back. Tough one to lose, but a nice turnaround for the Birds overall this season. Good luck next week PC!

A key play was Birds' failure to score a TD after PC fumbled on on 4th down on their 1st drive of the 2nd half. Birds had 1st & 5 on about the 15 and ended up having to kick a FG. TD would have put them up 35-14. 31-14 was still 3 possessions, but it was all downhill after that.

 

Another was failure of Birds to move the ball after PC onside kick was recovered by the Birds. Got to make them pay for that. A couple of first downs gets Daugherty in FG range and keeps momentum going. Not sure if Daugherty running was a sideline call, an option given to Daugherty if it was there OR a sideline call. 3rd & 6 was a stretch and gave PC the effect of actually recovering the onside kick.

 

PC was better than the Birds at many positions. If they played 10 times, PC probably wins 7 or 8 times. Birds forced them into some turnovers and held them in some critical points. Eventually, talent won out over 4 qtrs.

 

Very nice job by the Birds pulling together and performing well in their division. Really showed that they accomplished some goals after being "under fire" early in the season.
