Making fun of the ethnicity of anyone's young children is pretty sad, politician or not.

I would say that as a whole most Conway supporters will see nothing wrong with it and most Bevin supporters will think it is wrong.

Pretty much how most things go down.

I think kids should be off limits. They don't ask to be in the public eye.

I do NOT think the LHL was making fun of the children's ethnicity, whether they be from Ethiopia or Somalia or Sudan or where ever.

I think the point the LHL was trying to make -- perhaps it succeeded, perhaps it failed, perhaps it should have taken another route -- was that for Bevin to be making all this talk (and that's just talk, he and other ACTUAL governors -- he's not the acting one yet -- have LITTLE control when it comes to shutting down our borders) and saying he doesn't want people from that area in our state (when he himself brought kids over from that part of the world, albeit not that EXACT part) is interesting and hypocritical.

Things aren't perfect in Ethiopia (although there's little/no ties to ISIS like there is Syria).

Things aren't perfect in Syria, either.

At the least, his stance is interesting (especially when there are families WITH CHILDREN trying to escape Syria).

At the most, it is hypocritical.

Of course, this is NOT the only stance that Bevin probably should have researched first or kept quiet about before mouthing off (common core being another).

He doesn't/won't have as much power as he thinks he does (unless he believes the state's senators and representatives will just follow what he says).

I have been to Ethiopia, twice as a matter of fact. It is, what I would describe as, 2.5 world country. That being said, it is light years ahead of Syria.

Yes, they 100% crossed the line. Kids are off limits when taking shots at politicians or anyone else.

There is very little that I find offensive. This cartoon is no exception. Are you people kidding me? You really are offended at this cartoon pointing out the hypocrisy of GOP governors? What, are you worried that Bevin's kids will be traumatized by this cartoon? Hell, their dad's a damn Tea-Party Republican and Kim Davis sympathizer . You can't get anymore embarrassing than that.

Oh, I think you've proven that's not true....:D :lol2:

You beat me to it. :thumb:

Even though I did not vote for Bevin, as a conservative I'm not in line with Tea Party all that much. Sucks when your guy doesn't win though, doesn't it? Kids are easy targets and didn't ask to be part of the political circus. No matter how funny, I would try steer clear from them for now. All this junk is is bait to get him to respond so they can sells more papers or get more hits on their site.

Oh and by the way SF, hypocrisy is not just wasted on the GOP. Dems wear that scarlet letter H as well, but I think you already knew that.

After reading Bevin's response in the political forum, it's obvious he better grow a thicker hide or it's going to be a long four years. The role of a political cartoonist is to get us to think about hypocrisy and such, and this cartoon does just that.

While I agree with your post, what was the hypocrisy being exposed? Are his kids refugees?

I didn't care for the cartoon. I also read Bevin's response and found it nonsensical.

This about sums is up for me.
