November 16, 201510 yr This teams issue is in the locker room. Veterans not talented enough to win and young guys that don't know how to win at this level creating a divide. They need leadership from a player (Towles player only meeting?) or from a coach willing to do it.

November 16, 201510 yr Not at all. It gives false hope. The QB position is not the problem my friend! IMO, Barker and Towles are probably on the same level. Either would perform well this weekend. The previous games up to this point, you can point the finger at a half dozen areas. But you can't replace the whole Oline,Dline,receivers,dbs.....now can you? As I mentioned previously. A QB who can make quicker decisions and have a quicker release can make the line play look better. The Cincinnati Bengals IMO do not have that great of an offensive line in terms of pass blocking. However they are rated as one of the best lines since they don't give up to many sacks. However most of that has to do with Dalton have the second quickest release time in the NFL. With a QB that doesn't make as quick of decisions and has a slower release time, then the line wouldn't look as good. No doubt the UK offensive line isn't that good. However a QB really can make a line look better. One thing everyone has said Barker does is make quick decisions and is more accurate with the intermediate throws. So overall talent wise both Barker and Towles are probably even. However skill set wise they are different, and Barkers skill set could help this offense more and the line.
November 16, 201510 yr I'll be surprised if Barker starts against Louisville. It probably depends on how he looks this game. Stoops knows he has to try something to jump start this team.

November 16, 201510 yr Since Drew was about a sophomore in high school I've mentioned how good Pat has been to him. They met at awards banquet and Pat offered to help him with any recruiting process help he needed. He then offered to work with him on the QB position. He was positive when Drew committed. So this is the LEAST shocking thing to me: Patrick Towles @patty_ice14 47m47 minutes ago Can't wait to see @D_Barker7 ball out on Saturday! I'm behind you 100%! #ALLIN I would expect this from PT. Not only is he a classy kid from a great family but he is genuine. He was the first to pat Barker on the butt the other night when he got his first TD throw. I want to see both do well but IMO I think there are so many issues with the offense that it is a sinking ship for either Drew or PT.
