BlueTip Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 bout dam time Drew Barker set to make his first career start | Kentucky Sports Radio
NKY Bandit Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Hope he doesn't blow this chance against an exceptionally weak opponent. The internet may blow up if he doesn't play like Tom Brady.
littleluck55 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I hope they give him time and not yank him if he gets off to a bad start.
Randy Parker Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I hope they give him time and not yank him if he gets off to a bad start. Stoops said he would not have a short leash.
NKY Bandit Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Still a lot of talk about the divide in this team and it all centers around Barker. By benching Towles, has Stoops turned the asylum over to the inmates?
uk#1fan Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Still a lot of talk about the divide in this team and it all centers around Barker. By benching Towles, has Stoops turned the asylum over to the inmates? I agree! I have no interest to watch UK the rest of the year.
lawildcat Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Well now we can finally see if it is truly Towles that is bad or if it's the entire offense...
BirdBrain Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Well now we can finally see if it is truly Towles that is bad or if it's the entire offense... ...it's Dawson. Total tool bag with no idea how to run an offense. Let Barker earn his meal money. If he is half as good as some of his supporters on BGP then UK is on their way to a BCS Bowl appearance next year.

I think he's fine with his tools. There have been moments when the play calling has been great, and times when it hasn't. Barring a coach getting fired this off season, there isn't really anybody better who would want the job. If throws were made, blocks were made, and catches were made, Dawson would be thought of in a much different way.
Clyde Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I agree! I have no interest to watch UK the rest of the year. Shocking.

If he is half as good as some of his supporters on BGP then UK is on their way to a BCS Bowl appearance next year. Do have to note that there was total disfunction both times UK got the ball first and goal and came away with no points. First time Stoops called timeout right before the snap...created the impression he didn't like what Dawson was calling. Hate to see Stoop's program stalling two years in a row. Lex-Herald today was pointedly critical of no special teams coach and cited obvious disfunction on those teams.

5 STAR Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Well now we can finally see if it is truly Towles that is bad or if it's the entire offense... Very weak opponent could make Barker and the entire offense look like national champs. This isn't Florida or Georgia or MSST that we are talking about.
mexitucky Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 bout dam time Drew Barker set to make his first career start | Kentucky Sports Radio Careful what you wish for. Now we have a new QB playing behind that horrible O-Line throwing to inconsistent WRs. We already have one QB with no confidence, why make it 2? This isn't a "light a fire" type of benching, this is a switching of the guard type, and I personally don't like it at this point of the season. You still have a chance for a bowl bid. Why not allow Barker to get a few series here and there in games, and then have the offseason to get him comfortable. If Pat's time is done, have him finish the season out splitting snaps and then let Barker develop as the number one over the Spring and Summer.
