November 11, 201510 yr This is one of the lakes in the community my dad lives in, in Florida. I walk around these places sometimes... :scared:
November 11, 201510 yr Would you rather come across a python or a gator during your walk? Out in the open like that? Python for sure.
November 11, 201510 yr Would you rather come across a python or a gator during your walk? Python without question. You can run faster than they can move. Not necessarily the case with gators.
November 11, 201510 yr Did your dad actually take that picture, @theguru? That is unbelievable, wish it was on video.
November 11, 201510 yr People actually live down there in that state-sized swamp. They do it on purpose.
November 11, 201510 yr Author Would you rather come across a python or a gator during your walk? Personally a Gator. I hear what UK is saying but like the expert I talked to down in FL about this very issue, Gators are always close to the water (which I stay the bleep away from) but Pythons can be anywhere and they are VERY dangerous.
November 11, 201510 yr Author Did your dad actually take that picture, @theguru? That is unbelievable, wish it was on video. Hell no, dad has a flip phone, one step above a Jitterbug. Here is what I have on it: Our Member, Pat Aydelott took this great shot while playing Fiddlers Creek down the street from us. Pat - can you get closer next time so the photo isn't so grainy? Thank you! smile emoticon Caption this!
November 11, 201510 yr Author Now, we just need a predator for the gators! The Pythons do eat them. In short, Gators are too dumb to realize that one day those medium size Pythons will be big enough to eat them.
November 11, 201510 yr I am told large pythons often try to eat gators and sometimes things don't go as the python planned. Wonder if that is one of those cases?
November 11, 201510 yr Do the everglades still have a huge python issue? Remember watching a documentary a few years ago about how the large snakes were disrupting the ecosystem.
