So if I get this right Baker rolled the ankle on D and OBryan was hurt playing offense in a game that didn't matter. Things that make you go hmmmm.

Coach Love said they are a run heavy team which benefits the Ashland D. Id let em both sit also. I think the defense can control the game for them and Ashland is not short on weapons on offense.

Before tonight's games I would have leaned with Scott. After tonight Im not so sure.

 

It looks like Rowan Scored 21 on Ashland and had around 200 yards rushing against Ashland when they played. And Scott was missing LB Jerry Berling Friday night, who will be back.

 

Rowan did a good job of taking the air out of the football and playing slowdown, especially in the first half. Scott only ran around 12-15 on offense in the first half.

 

Ashland is still the favorite in this game, but having seen both teams play, I still think Scott has a punchers chance, especially if they can do to Ashland what Rowna did to them....keep Ashlands offense off the field with long methodical drives.

History might suggest that OBryan plays and Baker doesn't. If I am not mistaken Baker has played 3 of the last 5 playoff games and Obryan has played in 4 of 5. Two of those with a broken arm.

Wow! Must be crazy, but I see Scott's schedule preparing them well for this matchup. If Baker is healthy, Scott by 7. With an injured Baker, Scott by 15.

The more I look at Scott's schedule and results, the more the think it could be closer than I predicted. But there are a couple of games that still leave me leaning towards an Ashland win, possibly convincingly.

 

Those games that stand out are the two teams common opponents, Rowan and Bourbon counties. Ashland handled Bourbon easily, without their two D1 stud's, yet Bourbon played Scott within a TD. Then Friday Rowan took Scott to the wire and I believe led most of the game. Not sure I can really take much from that one as I know Rowans staff had those guys fired up and pulled out all the stops to try and get the upset. The Bourbon game is intriguing to me though.

 

All in all I'm really just making conversation, as it is hard to tell much about scores, even when comparing common opponents. Hopefully Baker and O'Brien will be 100% by Friday.
