You carry cash? I almost never do

Featured Replies

I don't carry cash. I spend cash. I think long and hard before I use debit or credit cards. I also have an Acorn account that takes round ups on my debit transactions and invests them. That account came in handy when I needed to pay for my home inspection a couple of weeks ago. I paid a $350 bill with what amounts to having saved all my spare change. ***Woot***

I carry a fair amount of cash on me. You never know what you may be able to buy with the right amount of cash.

I always try to use my credit card. My rewards card give me tons of options. I love my new kitchen appliances.?

I usually have around 50-100 on me. Depends where I am what I use. Mostly credit cards, though. The points are great and as VOR stated if you pay them off monthly it is a great deal.

Gotta use cash to get into high school games. Well unless I am Lawnboy.

I think it would be interesting to see how age effect how much cash we carry and how we make routine payment. I am well past qualifying for senior discounts and always have cash in my pocket. We pay almost everything with a credit card for the miles and only use debit at SAMs. My 30 something son seldom has cash and uses his debit card.

I keep 50bucks on me and that's about it. Card for me.

Only a little bit for emergencies most times.

Wife and I have recently started giving ourselves a "weekly allowance" where we withdrawal a set amount each week, she takes half, I take half, and that's the money we have to spend for that week. We use our cards for gas, groceries, and bill pay. So far it's been saving us a ton. Before we started doing this, I never carried cash. Never.

I tried doing this a while back and got away from it. I believe I spend way less when I do this and limit myself to only spending the cash I have in my pocket and not going back for more. I need to get on board with it again.

Always carry some cash mainly for tips as we eat out exclusively on the weekends . I cook during the week . All purchases during the week are by credit /debit cards attached to our checking accounts .

None of my kids carry cash, even when driving a couple hundred miles back and forth to school. It drives me crazy. I warn them that one of these days they're going to need gas and the debit/credit card machine is going to be down.

Pretty much every gas station in the country has ATM machines in them now days. They should be good.

Add me to the list that handle finances like this. The reward points are nice. Pay the card off monthly. It helps track spending/expenses. I usually have $20-40 on me for little purchases. If I have less than $10, I feel uneasy and make a stop to the ATM.

Used an ATM machine for the 1st time EVER two weeks ago.......it was pretty easy.

Didn't know about the ATM's, I'm glad there's that option. I haven't used one in 25 years. The fees drove me nuts.
