Let me also add that wasn't one bit directed towards the football programs (I don't even remember them being involved with what's in the link, I do the Highlands fiasco, though). All I know is what Dark Horse said, then I used that little thing called google to find the proof.

Correct...so let's hire him at Dunbar. or Bell or anywhere else that sees it fit for their football program and their student body. As the good Lord said to the women at the well, "go from here and sin no more." I don't know McPeek at all, couldn't pick him out in a lineup. ANY coach worth their salt understands that everybody needs a second chance. Heck, we would run out of coaches with all the ones that have been fired before and didn't get a second chance! LOL. Dudley Hilton would be banned for life if we held KHSAA rules violations against him! Just saying.

It is possible that he had a heavy hand in what was going on, but the admin without a doubt had a heavy hand in what was going on. He deserves a second chance. If the same things happen again, then he will have wasted his second chance.

I was thinking he announced this before the season started. From some reason I think I knew this.

It was stated that he got in trouble for recruiting and played a player that turned out ineligible. What else did HE do? Notice I said HE...not his Uncle...but him specifically? Tons of schools have broken the rules and we give so many of those coaches a pass, why is McPeek different? Please...by all means, cast some stones. How is what happened there much different than what happened at Highlands with the Mitchell kid (SP?). Yet Dale wasnt sent to misfit island. LCA was corrupt in several sports, yet we gave them and their coaches a pass. Heck I would say Fairview was the 2nd most corrupt behind LCA...but hey, good Christian folk get a pass (I say that in jest). LOL Funny how we pick and choose though.

Hasn't University Heights been suspended from tournament play a couple different times as well?

If people only knew how many kids a year play a game or two (including all sports) before a school realizes they are ineligible...it would shock folks. Keep in mind that the KHSAA works on a self report policy. Grade reports come out weekly and if a kid doesnt meet eligibility requirements then they are ineligible. You honestly wouldn't believe how many times it happens and schools don't report it. So with that said, if the only issue is that he played an ineligible player, then I am fine with the hire...he does it again then that's habitual and deserves a stern punishment. It's not like he was out buying prostitutes and snorting coke at an underage party...McPeek should be forgiven. Everyone should get a second chance.

IMO, It shouldn't matter if the kids came from West Virginia. Many, many schools in our state have kids from out of state and very rarely do these kids just show up at the school without communicating with a coach. Some schools in our state have made a living off if out of state kids.

...or in neighboring towns, or the same town yet different district. It might not be the coaches, and I want to believe it's not, but there is outside communication going on somewhere from somebody. I totally agree.

Fairview's ineligible player was a player that was in his 5th year of high school. I believe that was an over-cite because I just don't believe a school would knowingly do that, being that the kid was from another school 5 minutes away.
