It appears that Mark Sander and the Bullitt East HC job are not going to happen. They seem to be going another direction.

 

Does this mean that Sander changed his mind? From reading on here I thought the job was his & they were waiting on his response.

Mike Holcomb has retired and headed back to be an assistant at Breathitt according to some I know.

Yes really, at least to me. Retirement is one thing, leaving Letcher is understandable, but going back to Jackson when the current situation with Breathitt County Schools being what it is is very puzzling. Not to mention accepting an assistant coaching job.

I think people slightly overestimate what AD's make...

-been a HC for 30+ years.

-has won 3 State Titles

-he's been a AD for the majority of those 30+.

-still lives in Jackson and rents an apartment in Whitesburg during the week while his family stays backs.

-has a grandkid or two now.

-wants to call it quits on being a Chief, but go be an Indian to one of his own (Kyle Moore) & help out where he can at the program he built which also happens to be where his family is/home

 

Call me crazy, but I get it.

Jefferson County is its own monster (as it is in a lot of areas), but AD's are full time administrators there, so it wouldn't shock me with their pay scale (s) plus his years of experience (not sure what they are in KTRS, bc his years at DeSales obviously don't count towards what he is making now).

 

I'd be curious to know for sure, though. I'd say it's close to 90K range. Maybe not at or over, but dang close.

I didn't know Holcomb still lives in Jackson. That would make a difference if that is his retirement destination anyway. Thanks @Harry Doyle

Don't think this covers an stipends......but I'm sure a quick search of the JCPS salary schedules should give you a good idea of what the AD stipend is.

I'm hearing Mcpeeks name associated with many of the open jobs. Does he want to leave Georgia?

I am sure for retirement reasons he wants to return.
