That's a nice compliment for Barker then. Let's not forget Tom Brady kept losing his qb job in college to Drew Henson because of not looking great in college and I think Brady turned out ok.

A frustrating team to watch. I keep hearing every game from the likes of Brent "the face of UK football" Musburger that Stoops is bringing in more high-level recruits than his predecessors. I took the close call against Florida as a good sign.

 

Then the near-disaster against Eastern, and the melt-down last night. A low-level bowl game is still definitely there for the taking, but this team seems to be going backwards.

I saw some promising things out of Barker and believe he will be an excellent QB in due time.

I'm not a huge UK football fan but I have a bit more faith in the progress of the program than most of you guys on here.

 

I think they started the season 4-1. Probably a better start than most expected.

 

They are in a tough 4 game stretch against SEC competition. A close loss to Auburn and a lopsided loss to an SEC West team on the road - now the sky is falling???

 

They may lose their next two games in this mid season stretch. Wouldn't surprise me a bit. Doesn't mean we should all give up on them. This team has 3 very winnable game to finish the season and may just finish 7-5. A winning record and a bowl game - what more do you guys expect.

Sorry Hellcats but Elam was far from ok last night. He was getting pushed around every play. The only time he got penetration is when Miss St wanted him to get penetration to set up screens etc.

 

Agree....for a 6'7 360lb guy he did a ton of Boobie fighting.

I agree that this team has me pulling my hair out every game. But when you say they are going backwards, what are they going backwards from? They are following a 5-7 season, where they lost their last 6 games. They are 2 seasons away from when they went 2-10 and didn't win an SEC game. They are 3 seasons removed from the Joker era.

 

Give it time. As others have said, football is much different than basketball, in the fact that you cant have a couple freshman come in and have a major program changing impact. We have 3 very winnable games left in Charlotte, Vandy and Louisville, which puts us at 7 wins. If we can steal one from Tennessee this week that would be huge.

So PT would be an All American? Lets face people, Pat & Drew are doing the best they can with what they are dealt with the tools in front of them and around them. PT knows his role on this team and I quite frankly think Drew does as well.

He didn't play due to ankle injury.

I think a major problem UK has is that Boom is the only true SEC talent we have on the offensive side of the ball. We don't have receivers that demand the ball and go up and make plays.
