The biggest weakness is our defensive line, big boy needs to decide if he is going to play college football or be a professional twinkie eater.

The offense shows two horrible plays and then a great one, they have to find some consistency.

But seeing as how they could not beat Auburn at home, I didn't expect much out of this one.

Stoops isn't the problem. He's doing a great job. Talent is the issue. Last night was high level SEC talent vs. low level SEC talent. The only thing Barker is the answer to is a trivia question about the fight at EKU.

The cats have upgraded at several positions.

.... the receiviing corp has improved 100%. I know they have some drops but they are getting much closer to sec level playmakers at this position.

 

.... the secondary is improved but still is missing several sec level athletes.

 

.... qb is fine. If Barker don't get in trouble he will step in after towles graduates and shouldn't mis a beat.

 

.... OL and DL are in dire need of depth and studs.

 

I'm really starting to question high level 4* and 5* kids from ky. Ky HS football is simply not on pace with other states. Would Elam be a 4* in tx,fl,oh, ect ect? After watching Lewis (I like him) I'm thinking we should load up juco kids.

For what Elam is...I thought he did ok last night. He is the second nose in a 4-3 defense. He lined up and helped clog the middle. Heck he was instrumental on that 4th and short stop. A kid that has been spot playing about 5 plays a game to playing 40 or 9000 last night. He was ok.

 

The rest of the guys and the def. coordinator not so much. :taz:

Sorry Hellcats but Elam was far from ok last night. He was getting pushed around every play. The only time he got penetration is when Miss St wanted him to get penetration to set up screens etc.

They don't rank stars * by state. It's a flawed system of ranking players. It mostly comes down to what camps you attend etc. it's a money making system for ranking players mostly. You can have a kid be ranked with 2 stars and if he declares for a big program you will then find him to be a 4 star player and it happens in reverse also.
