October 25, 201510 yr Barker isn't better. :ohbrother: i have little faith in stoops and co but I do believe they can evaluate qbs enough to know that barker isn't as good. Towels is actually playing ok on the other hand his recievers are inconsistent. They drop balls and don't compete. But the worst side is now the defense and that goes straight to Elliot and Stoops. It would have taken 60 to win last night with that defense.
October 25, 201510 yr QB is the least of the issues, it's just one of them. OL bad, MAC level receivers, DL bad and no light at end. The Jimmys and Joes simply are not there, and Stoops isn't getting the right athlete to make it better. Keep denying it, but it's fact.

October 25, 201510 yr The defense was also to vanilla. I never saw and D line stunt or twist or anything. Anyone notice Stoops let Forrest have it on the sideline? He said, don't you ever wave me off again, Never! It was a train wreck in the trenches on both sides of the ball. A ton of passes dropped again and not a 1 by Timmons. Kid got blasted last year for some drops and was blamed for losses. Looks like he wasn't the problem after all. Cats got a long way to go still. BTW, Barker is not the answer either.

October 25, 201510 yr Barker is not the "fix all" for this team. Even if he is better than PT, it won't make a difference. Way too much wrong with this UK team. Halfway through the season and the D still has no clue where to line up, and not being set on the snap. How is Barker going to fix that? Barker is not the fix. That isn't why he should start. He should start to get the reps and get better. Towles clearly isn't the answer and Barker may not be the answer either but at least get him as much playing time in games where they have no shot so if Towles does go down Barker is ready.

At least his second drive he moved the team right down the field. You can talk about Barkers INT all you want but look at Towles Int's last night. Towles wasn't hit as he was throwing his god awful Int's.
October 25, 201510 yr Boys, there are a lot of issues to fix. QB play can get better but it's on page 3 of things to get better at.
October 25, 201510 yr I'm not saying make Barker the starter from here on out. I'm saying get him reps to better prepare him if he is needed. Let's not kid ourselves folks, there are only 2 games that matter and make up heir emote season from here on out and that is Charolette and Bandy games. If they don't win both of them then the season is a bust. Get Barker reps so if Towles needs to be benched or is hurt in those two games we have a QB with some reps under his belt to come into the game.

October 25, 201510 yr Stoops isn't the problem. He's doing a great job. Talent is the issue. Last night was high level SEC talent vs. low level SEC talent. The only thing Barker is the answer to is a trivia question about the fight at EKU.
October 25, 201510 yr Where you COULD use Drew is if you wanted a "mix it up" strategy. Pat can't run the read option as we saw again last night. He had chances to keep it and take it around the end who crashed hard and nailed the runner. Just not something he does well. Drew does. I don't expect that to occur. Dawson has repeatedly says he's a 1 QB guy which I get.
