I remember him opening the season vs Cov Cath. TD return on the opening kick.

I would love to see him in today's high school game. Would love to see what he could do in a spread type offense.

Always looked forward to the Saturday Enquire to see how many yards and TD's he had.

Spread Offense and Coach Hauk would never be heard in the same sentence.

I know a certain JV fastpitch coach at a school in Ft Thomas who will swear up and down that he outplayed Shaun in PeeWee football.

And Uncle Rico can throw a ball over a mountain

He was pretty good.

As long as he believes it, is all that matters :wacky:

I was at that game...20+ years later it still doesn't seem real.

Well, I don't know since I wasn't around but someone did once tell me that in Pee Wee Shaun was lazy and wouldn't cooperate in practice, etc. so it is possible the guy is telling the truth, not because he was a better athlete but because Shaun hadn't put it together yet.

This is a just hearsay on my part, though.

BTW, those are some crazy stats on his high school career.

I have a really good story about Shaun Alexander. He was ridiculously good in high school!!! I also know that there was a RB at Conner at the same time that, in my opinion only, was almost as good as Shaun was. George Duvall The Bowling Ball was amazing for Conner and watching him and Shaun battle it out was quite entertaining.

My memory isn't great, but I remember being at the Boone County vs Trinity 4A State Finals at Old Cardinal Stadium his Senior year. I believe Trinity won, but WOW what a player he was!

George was good, that is for sure. He beat Highlands in Duffy's last game, if I remember correctly.

My memory is the first 40 yard dash I ever ran in my life. It was the summer before my Freshman year at the Guru's (not our Guru) summer camp. I was watching how people started b/c I'd never gotten into a true sprinter stance before. I was at the end of the line and when I started towards my spot everybody was laughing. We were running in 3 lanes, so it was a race as much as it was about getting timed. I looked around to see what everyone was laughing at and realized that I was standing in the middle lane b/n Shaun and Brian Maney, his fullback. Shaun had just gotten back from Michigan's camp, and Maney was even faster than Shaun. Long story short, I can describe what Shaun looks like as he pulls away from you.

I heard the same thing, rings true tho, not where you start, its where you finish:popcorn:
