Now this new info, if true, does make some sense. Have him walk on there (or anywhere DI or II really) and prove his worth and maybe earn that scholarship for his junior or senior seasons. Best of luck to him!

Free education and going to a place where you can play are the most important things! Too many times kids go with the biggest school that recruits them and it doesn't work out. All or almost all these kids getting recruited have been the star of there team since elementary school. Hard to go sit on bench for 2-3 years trying to get on the floor.

My expert opinion for what it's worth. Austin Crawford is an exceptional high school player. How many guards eclipse 3000 points and 1000 rebounds in a high school career? Very few! Austin could make a D1 roster, but not sure he'd see much playing time. If I were him I'd jump on the Pikeville offer and go to a good school, play for a great coach, and see the floor possibly as a freshman.

So if Wichita State wanted him but has no schollies can we assume they are asking him to still come and walk on?

 

It's hard to believe a kid who WSU supposedly wants to offer isn't getting offers from lower-level D1 schools.

I was told the offer was removed because Crawford took too long to give Wells an answer.

I had also heard this a couple days after the Campbell/Bracken Region game. Then Michael Antrobus got an offer soon after, hope it isn't true. Whoever gets Austin is getting a great talent.

Cumberlands should have a spot open? Just switch out the Faulkner twin recruiting him.
