The songs sound like to me if you take the recording tape tossed in the trash for any recording session and mixed it all together in a mosh pit and played it. No rhyme or reason to any of that music to me.

 

Was not a big fan of AC DC outside of the Back in Black album. Always thought all their songs sounded the same.

Grateful Dead

Bruce Springsteen. Yuck.

 

Dave Matthews. Never gotten it, never will. And if my boss see's this post I might get fired. She almost worships the guy.

 

Lots of country acts too numerous to mention.

 

Same for rap groups, too numerous to mention. Although I will say I don't think many of them are all that popular per se, but have a vocal hard core fan base.

 

Grateful Dead. I think they are similar to many rap groups, not necessarily all that popular but have a vocal hardcore fan base.

Not at all, they are given credit for that and they do not deserve it. Music was already changing that's why so many bands that came just a year or two after them sound nothing like the Beatles.

 

I hate Van Halen, all rap, and anything 80's hair bands.

I will say that some of you all could use a night of spinning records in Habib's Tavern™. It might change your mind. :lol2:

I never really considered myself a fan, but I was drug to one of their concerts, and it was fantastic. They were electric.

 

I think the Talking Heads are the only non-stop energy band that tops them that I have seen, and I've seen a lot. Watch their live videos sometime.

 

Do I sit and listen to them on a regular basis - no. But I would go see them again in a heartbeat.

I've seen Floyd more times then I can count dating back to the Animals tour at Cleveland Stadium. IMO, anybody who doesn't like Floyd, should be flogged.

I love Gord, and I hate that you and I could never agree to that.

 

I find this to be one of the most fantastic rock'n'roll artifacts ever, how the crowd's not really into it through the first two verses, Gord looks terrified, then he turns it over to the guy on the 6-string for the solo and then everybody's clapping along, and Gord is loving it. Beautiful. I hope my neighbor loved it when I sang it aloud a couple minutes ago.

Hall and Oates is another one I can't stand. I really started my hatred of them when Daryl Hall Came out and said they were bigger than the Beatles ever were.

I've seen them the last two summers. It was a really good show both times. Not sure I'll see them again, but still.

 

I do agree with you that there's been little to no artistic growth since their first two albums.
