Artists You Disliked/Hated That Everyone Else Loved

Featured Replies

I'd never use the word "hate" but two groups that I just didn't dig very much were Fleetwood Mac and Pink Floyd.

Oh, where to begin …

Feel free to begin with my disdain for two R&R HOFers.

Anything rap. I would say rap music but that is an oxymoron.

Also U2

I like U2 but have never been the fan that many are.

No issue with the rap/hip-hop genre.

I'll just go ahead and get some obvious ones out of the way here:

• Garth Brooks

• Don Henley/Eagles

• Guns'n'effin'Roses

• Dave Matthews Band — first two records were solid, but they never evolved

• AC/DC with Brian "He Looks And Sounds Like He's Pinching One Off" Johnson

• Van Hagar

• Jimmy Buffett

• Bro-Country/Current Pop Country — especially when rap elements are included — I'm looking at you, all you jerks involved with that "Rollin' Down A Dirt Road" song

• Jethro Tull and most prog-rock

• Barenaked Ladies

• Most hair metal

• I never cared for The Moody Blues — I've just always found them to be overly pretentious — and it's my Dad's favorite Pandora station …

Lots of blasophemy in this thread.

Lots of blasphemy, too.

It felt good when I started this thread by dissing Janis Joplin. It's not so much fun seeing some of my favorites being listed....:irked:

Rap/hip hop is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. Is there a difference between rap and hip hop. I truly don't know.

Bono just sounds like he is in misery.

Hendrix

Say What!

I'll quote KRS-One: Rap is something you do. Hip Hip is something you live.

Some will tell you rap is sub-category of hip hop.

Need our old friend 85BearsFan to get back on here to expound on his beliefs.

To me rap is something you do to make money when you can't sing and have limited or no talent.

You ever tried to put a rap together that flows with a beat? It's extremely difficult to do.

To say they have no talent is simply not true. It may not be your cup of tea, but they most certainly have talent. Most rappers are phenomenal lyricists.

As UKMF points out it's not easy to do.

Hip Hip is something you live.

BGP peeps, we're a little over a month from Clizzy's birthday & I've really been fretting the last couple of weeks, not knowing what I will change his avatar to on that day.

But I'm not fretting anymore.
