Are You Obese?

Featured Replies

The BMI index can really only be used for people who do not exercise. And even then it isn't the end all. To say it's completely useless isn't entirely fair but it has to be taken with a grain of salt.

If you are 5'10", 200lbs, and 10% body fat the BMI index is useless. If for the same height/weight you are 30% body fat then I'd say it's pretty dead on.

I prefer the term Fat! And yes I am.

Vacations and work trips have done me in this year.

Just made the cut...just overweight

6'0" 217lbs

BMI 29.4

Have you seen "The Rock" lately....there was an article or tweet or something not too long ago that showed how the he is 6'4ish and over 300 lb of solid muscle, but based on the BMI chart he is considered to be obese!:idunno:
No way he's over 300lbs.

My doctor told me I was "morbidly obese" last year when I visited. Last night, I benched 270 and swam the length of 3 football fields :thumb:

I'm overweight.

Yes, I am.

I like to think I'm big boned. Big bones & beer, not a good combo.

I have (3) petite sisters in the 100 - 120 lb range. I tell my brother in laws to thank me for taking on the weight of my parent's offspring.

Yes I am. What's your point?
