In earlier posts, you were maintaining that other teams would work harder to get to Louisville if they knew Trinity and St. Xavier might not be in their path. Now you're saying that if two non-Louisville teams reach the finals, it means football has gotten better out in the state.

I'll give them ('99 HHS) credit they beat us, but as far as beating BS and/or a healthy HC that year, no. BS lost to X in the finals in overtime because of two fluke calls in regulation. HHS has had pretty good, and since i'm a distant fan of the fort thomas program (as well as others), some great teams. '99 team was good and in '00 became great. Heck, if we didn't have some key preseason injuries and suspensions, we might have beat them. But if is not something to count on.

Yeah there are ifs, but the post was about talent. Their are no if's in talent, and definately none in NFL talent, which were on both teams. Shane Boyd-Pittsburgh, Eric Shelton-Carolina. '99 team from ft. thomas-0. Not to discredit those players, i've met and conversated with Gino, Brett, and the d-end (can't remember his name). All nice guys, but admitted in seeing film of HC and BS, those two teams were better.

The touchdown pass and the goalline situation. Our news clearly showed and stated that the reciever was nowhere near the line in the back of the endzone and the X player was stopped on 4th down. Seems like it caught up with X this year.

Wasn't on preps yet, but my lil cous played high school f-ball last year at a school here in lex.. He said, after watching them play catholic here and after T lost to X that X would be 4A champs. I said no. T always has SPEED, X does 2, but the diff. is the offensive styles. X is restricted by the smashmouth type of play in my opinion. T, you spend all night trying to prevent at least 4 from getting the ball on any given play. Now that coverdale is back, it may become even more diff. because of the confusion his offense causes defenses to go through. I've been in a locker room with a d-cordinator who cried to a head coach because he felt like he had run out of defensive calls.
