August 1, 201511 yr I One of my Facebook Friends posted this: When I was 20 years old, I was a doorman at the Crossbow Taverne in the basement of the Drawbridge Inn. About 2:25 am one night a wrestler engaged me in a conversation and told me I should come to New York to try out for the WWF, now the WWE. I, being young and foolish, threw the number away. RIP Rowdy Roddy Piper, you were always my favorite. Was this when he was arrested for DUI?

August 1, 201511 yr I Was this when he was arrested for DUI? I seem to remember that too and probably around the same time in the late 80s.
August 2, 201511 yr I know the DUI was during his Snuka feud. Rumor back then was that Snuka was the one that picked him up when he was released. Usually, they are careful about who they ride with when it comes to story lines.
August 3, 201511 yr " I came here to kick butt and chew bubble gum and I'm all out of bubble gum". Awesome. He did indeed get picked up by Snuka after wrestling him that very night. August 4, 201511 yr There were two periods in my life when I watched "Big Time" wrestling. One was during the Igor the Great era and the other was the Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant era. Rowdy Roddy piper made a great villain vs Hogan's good guy image at the time. He played the psycho pretty well. Piper's Pit was always very entertaining. Sixty-one is way too young to die.
