How much of a lunch crowd to these places get during the week?

 

Grail does the best, IMO. They always have a decent crowd in there. J Social and Tin Roof are average. Yardhouse and Moerlein do well.

 

Last time I was at Toby Keith's for lunch (winter) we were 1 of 2 in that huge place and lunch took over an hour for a couple burgers. It was crazy. Haven't been back since.

I enjoyed this place, but haven't been in almost a year. I agree that the rent is too high, and yes, the place was huge! It's going to take a little more time for most of the places there to get steady business, with GE going in next year, more apartments are going in soon too.

I wonder if the landlord (or whoever it was) waited for the All-Star activities to end before closing the place down.

Toby's was the only place you could get a beer between 8-9:30 at the banks All Star night. Street bar closed at 8:00 and all of the other bars had lines to get in. That kinda told me something. It was about 1000 Degrees in there too.

I remember hearing they paid 20K a month for that space. Not sure if that is accurate.

She told me a normal Saturday pulls in $37-42K. Saturday with a Reds game is about $50K. Saturday of ASG they did $80K.

$20K a month does not sound crazy if you do that type of volume.

I wouldn't say they were the same issue. Mahogany's was a disaster from the start, and highly questionable. The lady had a lot of money/legal issues before she even signed with the city and banks. Plus, she kept lying about the payments, as well as not paying employees. It was always one day she didn't have the money, then the next she rolls in with 10's of thousands of dollars at a deadline? She was trying to get away with something.

True but they have a lot of expenses and Toby's wasn't doing anything close to that probably. Maybe it's more than 20K.

And how much did they have to bump up staffing to cover that kind of crowd. You never know how these revenues shift when temporary expenses kick in.

I wasn't impressed with the one in Vegas, but they decent crowds due to the location.

You must never go at night. J Social is always packed and you can't move inside Tin Roof on any Friday or Saturday night.

This place needed to close. Terrible place to go. No atmosphere. Too big. Felt like a warehouse.

That would probably be best. That place was huge.

 

There is quite a bit of unoccupied space down there still. Kinda surprised they haven't been able to attract other businesses.

 

Exactly it was huge and I'm guessing their bill to be there was even bigger.

I went there three times I think and only because other restaurants were too crowded and you could get in there. Too big and service was nothing special. It was in a bad location too within the Banks.
