Isnt the banks going to be over saturated with places when the new section opens up?

 

Not likely IMO. If anything it'll help. Right now Holy Grail, Moerlien, Jefferson Social, Yard House, and Tin Roof are absolutely crammed every Friday and Saturday night. I know there's been quite a few times we've ended up going elsewhere because we just didn't want to deal with the hassle of literally rubbing elbows with people all night long. With a handful of new options it'll make it a more viable location for people not wanting to be crammed into a small space like sardines. JMO.

It amazes me how many people just across the river refuse to venture across the bridge. I have a couple friends that never end up going out with us because of their unwillingness to enter into Ohio.

To be fair I cross the river every day for work lol. Heck I havent been to a hockey game or Reds game in about 3 years or more to even be in that area. But I don't eat out much either except for lunch. In Fact the bgp thing at flipdaddy's next week will be the first time wife and I have ate/been out to a restaurant in almost 2 months.

I'm interested in what goes in there as well. Prime location.

 

The Two-Bits bar that took over for Wine Guys isn't set to open for a little while I don't believe, but they were open for the All-Star festivities. Hopefully it wasn't finished, because it was an incredibly cheap knock-off version of 16-Bits up off Mercer.

 

I was there briefly for both nights (HR Derby & ASG). The bartender told me that they were only open for the ASG Festivities, and planned to have a grand opening in September. I believe they're shut down as of now, and are going to spend the next 2+ months doing renovations.

The Banks does need more options. As it is, aside from a couple places, it can be slow down there when the Reds or Bengals aren't in town, which is only 90 days a year. The other 275 days a year, there isn't much to draw folks down, which is problematic for some of the smaller places.

I like going up into OTR, but call me Cinderella because we always get back before dark. We enjoy a little day drinking adventure.

When I'm back in town I may go to the yard house but other than that I prefer KY.

I still haven't been to Moerlein since their "Wrigley South" debacle. I hope when I die and someone writes my obituary in the newspaper they put that in it. :lol2:

Jefferson Social and Holy Grail are by far the two best bars on the Banks. It's not even close. Someone should chop that space up with similar bars and good concepts and they will do fine with that space even though it's on the other side of the building.
