Correct. The KHSAA does not allow a school to "invite" a kid from another school. That's what I meant when I said the recruiting rules are a 365-day rule.

 

The wording of bylaw 23 defines the "year" and "season." When it's outside of those dates a kid can show up and play. School can't ask him to come. It's a very fine line and one that would seem difficult to prove by the KHSAA if someone thought there were some rules being broken.

Actually both are above average Athletes. As far as All-Region material it depends who you ask! I personally think both kids improve your teams chances....Now what comes with it! That's for another thread......:wacky:

And yes, you can get a full paid tuition for academics at Private High Schools. My daughter has a friend that will be getting this for NDA.

You referenced 16-6-4. Look at the end of that .... "is outside the scope and allowable contact periods contained in bylaw 23." So that tells us there are defined periods.

 

Bylaw 23-1-c defines the the year as either May 31 or the last day of school - whichever comes first.

 

23-16-2 says that once summer starts and through June 24 play is governed at the local level(which seems to back up what the person from the KHSAA told me yesterday).

I am not familiar with any child being able to attend a Catholic high school for free.

 

It happens now and it happened back in my days of the late 1970's thru 1981.

Catholic high schools along with grade schools do have tuition assistance but you have to show financial need and the schools do not touch that aspect of it. Outside companies such as FACTS handle this.
