Catholic high schools along with grade schools do have tuition assistance but you have to show financial need and the schools do not touch that aspect of it. Outside companies such as FACTS handle this.

The eligibility of student athletes is clearly stated in KHSAA bylaw 16. If a kid is not enrolled in the school or in a feeder school, they cannot participate in school summer ball. Per the KHSAA, "For a school to be considered a “feeder” school, it must be under the same local board of education as the member school,

A lot of parents that spent a small fortune on private school tuition would love to have known about those "free" private schools.

I am not familiar with any child being able to attend a Catholic high school for free.

 

Even if a kid can attend a Catholic school for free, a kid could go to any public school for free as well, if the public school where the kid lives would release the state money. Some schools won't release that money, so that's an issue between the two public schools.

Why should all just play in the school district assign and see what happens.......Now that's a idea.......

If the bylaw does not apply to the summer, then recruiting is open season in the summer time?

Kenton county release some of the funds. About half. So if you live in Kenton Co and want to go to HHS, the family only pays half. If you live in Camp co and want to go to HHS, the family pays all of it. HHS gets their tuition either way.

 

This! Did it for 10 years for my two boys.

 

And yes, you can get a full paid tuition for academics at Private High Schools. My daughter has a friend that will be getting this for NDA.

I am not seeing the gray area that states these rules only apply to the school year. The rules I posted are part of the the recruiting rules. The only impermissable contact per Case BL 16-6 that says anything about the school year is #13 . "(13) Making athletic facilities (including weight rooms and other training facilities) available during the school year;"
