(Oops!) It has been pulled little by little towards a convergence with the crazy right. Gotta stay center to win the big House. Bill Clinton understands that. Jeb Bush understands that. The Tea-Party doesn't. The crazies on the right will force the primary candidates to say crazy things to get their vote, which, in turn, will kill any hopes that candidate might have in the general election. The math is a real problem for the GOP in the general election anyway. If an earthquake ever destroys California, the GOP may have a slight chance of regaining the White House... VERY slight!

Unless the GOP can figure out how to pick off, say, N.Y. or California or the upper Midwest, the math will continue to favor the Democrats given the changing demographics. I agree. With the demographics like they are as of now, and I don't see that changing any time soon, there won't be another Republican president in the next 30 years, maybe 50 years. The Democrats have too big of an advantage in the electoral college before the race even starts. Actually, it's over before it starts. It doesn't really matter who they nominate, they're going to win. Hillery is the next POTUS and the Commander and Chief of the armed forces. Whew!!! Can you imagine that!!! Scary.

What's also needed, politically speaking, is for the GOP to follow Barry Goldwater's advice from the '60s and get out of the social issues business. Anyone who is an independent is not buying into the current conservative Republican Party. Why would they buy into an even more radical, conservative party? IMO, Ted Cruz would get destroyed by whoever the Dems nominate. It is all about the middle and the independents in national elections and Cruz is not getting votes out of that group.
