Is Newport Central Catholic getting a 7 Footer from out of town?

NCC Alum here, I think NCC gets more than it's fair share of praise on this site. In fact I don't recall much negativity ever.

I have heard a lot about this kid, from other fans and administrators at other schools. If NCC took him in as a Jr, I'm suprised, and I can guarantee you it will be reviewed extremely thoroughly by the State at the request of some other local schools.

Another AD I know said "from what I hear, I can't believe he will EVER be eligible."

I guess we'll all find out soon enough...

That AD must have meant this year. He watches one year, then he's a free agent.

Not true. If he's admitted as a junior at newcath he'll be eligible. If the state doesn't accept his credits then he certainly won't be able to enroll as a SR next year somewhere else.

So, what is his issue? His credits being applied? And forgive me for my ignorance but I'm not wading thru the first 130ish posts. Is there an abbreviated version?

Kid came from Africa. Not very educated but is 7 foot tall so obviously he can play basketball. CCH wanted no part of him - FACT. Now, I will assume he is going to be at NCC after having visited there starting the end of last school year. Oh, and someone needs a tissue.

Sounds like a Hargrave type kid to me. I wish him luck. Thanks for the synopsis.

My son is a part of the NCC bball program and this young man will not be attending NCC.

Oh I will. My opinion was not in regards to this site, it was ONLY in regards to this post. I stand by what I said. There is a lot of guessing and hearsay. There were alot of negative comments. I dont have a son who plays basketball so again, I couldn't care less about the subject.

Sorry Bully you were given wrong information because based on pictures on FB for the 1st day of school at NCC it has him walking down the hallway.

He appears to going to NCC, so now the question will be if he plays.

I saw that picture this morning too and knew I was going to get called out. In my defense, I was told by a very reliable source that he wasn't. Not sure if he's going to be a part of the basketball program but glad he is getting a good education on the hill.

As soon as I saw that pic I came to BGP to point it out.

I bet he does.

CCH didn't turn him away, he chose NCC because it was a smaller school FACT, as for basketball only time will tell.

It's all good. The fact he is going there will only make things more interesting on here. :) Has he been attending any open gyms this summer that would give us an idea that he may play this year?

I hear that soccer is actually his sport, not bball. Good luck to him and NCC on this one.

I was at a NCC soccer practice and did not see anyone over 5'8".

Mind you it was during tryout week.
