April 23, 201511 yr I'm gonna miss Cueto after the trade deadline. Makes them worth watching every 5 days. What do you do if the Reds have a 2 game lead in the NL Central at the deadline?

April 23, 201511 yr Depends on the offer, doesn't it??? I get the impression that a lot of people are in the "trade him anyway" camp.
April 23, 201511 yr Hamilton's winning run. Hamilton scores on wild pitch | reds.com Watching it live, I thought it was much closer than the replay showed. He just flat out beat KRod to the plate.
April 23, 201511 yr What do you do if the Reds have a 2 game lead in the NL Central at the deadline? This drives me crazy. Why in the world should the Reds trade their best pitcher? This kind of thinking drives me crazy. It's the same garbage when people want to trade Votto....why trade your best players???? You expect the Reds to suddenly get better as soon as they lose their 2 best players? When has that EVER worked????? Never.

April 23, 201511 yr I get the impression that a lot of people are in the "trade him anyway" camp. He's leaving after this season regardless. Trade him by the deadline and get some ML ready guys or lose him at season's end for a compensatory pick. Seems like a no-brainer to me. I wonder if the Dodgers would consider Seager, Urias, or Pederson for him?

I wonder if the Dodgers would consider Seager, Urias, or Pederson for him? Almost certainly not Pederson. They aren't going to create a hole in center field for a half season rental. Doubtful on Seager. They've got 3 infielders that will be free agents after this season, he'll have a starting spot next year. Urias is a possibility. If they'd have traded him last season when he would have been under team control for a year and a half they might have gotten someone like that now. With him being a half season rental they aren't getting 2-3 major league ready players. I'd say they'd be more likely to get someone like Zach Lee or Alex Guerrero.

I think it depends on where he would get traded. A team like LA would be able to sign him long-term. May be willing to give up a little more to get the inside track on securing him long-term. Probably just wishful thinking on my part. :lol2: Guerrero is older, but guy can rake at the dish. Wouldn't be a bad option. Another possibility with a Cueto trade would be to see if they could convince the other team to take Phillips' contract off their hands too. :idunno:

Need to restock this team with young guys that are cheap and under team control and develop them.

Need to restock this team with young guys that are cheap and under team control and develop them. This. It's why they need to move Cueto, Chapman, Phillips (if possible), and I'm starting to give up on Bruce. Restock the system, suck for a year or two, and then make a go at it.

If they try to include him in the trade of Cueto then the return will be less. I'd say the Reds will just try to survive through the end of that putrid thing
