What would the Owensboro Red Devils record be if they played in the WNBA?

Featured Replies

I think Owensboro could go to the post 100 consecutive times and the WNBA team would have no answer.

That is my thinking as well. No chance they prevent layup after layup from Miller and Holman, and in the off chance there is a miss, it's an easy offensive rebound.

The guards are good enough that they won't have a lot of turnovers, and they can hit shots (especially with a women's ball) if there is any need to keep the defense honest.

Also, a press wouldn't work against them. If they get ever get in trouble, they can just throw it up to Holman.

I can't imagine them losing a game if they give a decent effort.

The top 5 or 6 teams in KY would all go 34-0. If a boys HS team has a few D1 players, they would dominate the WNBA. WAAAYYYY to quick and athletic.

I would say the top 50 teams would go 34-0.

Surely you're kidding...I've always been in the belief that High School Boys could dominate Womens College/WNBA players, but I've seen up and personal how good these girls are. If you don't believe me, go up to the KBA on a Sunday afternoon and watch some of UK's former Women's players play against former Mens College players. Call me crazy?

I'm not kidding but I have played against some really, really good female players and my opinion is that the size, strength and speed difference is just too much for them to overcome.

Especially when that size, strength and speed also plays like a cohesive unit the way Owensboro does.

exactly, 34-0

Somebody beats them because they have an off shooting night and tired from the travel.

33-1

I played some pickup games with very good women's college players back in the day. I never played a day of organized basketball in my life.

Based on that experience I'd say size is a problem, but quickness is the real killer. The ladies, even those among the best in the WNBA aren't quick enough to stay with good boys HS players.

The ladies would have a tough time getting quality shots off anywhere on the floor.

They wouldn't win a game. The first time Justin Miller got the ball in the post all the lady guarding him would have to do is body him up. How many high school boys do you know that can keep their composure after touching a breast? Owensboro would crack.

34-0 without a doubt. Any rules that are different would only help Owensboro and hurt the WNBA team. I had the opportunity to watch a NCAA D1 Womens Final Four starting five scrimmage against 4 males (they brought with them) and the bottom female player on their roster in a practice. Full out scrimmage. When they stopped it was 26-4. The top NCAA Womens teams all banded together to defeat the rule change that would not permit them to use males in practice a couple of years ago. They know that it allows them to get better by playing better competition.

34-0. Guys would dominate inside.

Aric Holman is 6'9"

Justin Miller is 6'7"ish and 270ish. Sweet 16 MVP.

Those two guys would score nearly every possession. WNBA can't stop that kind of size.

I think the biggest obstacles for the ladies would play in the paint. I watch quite a bit of games and it isn't always pretty in tree he paint. Lack of size and athleticism would be a major detriment.

I think the 1st team WNBA would put up a fight. Taurasi, Diggins, Moore, Parker and Gruber can ball.

I'm taking a good HS boys team over a WNBA all star team and I'm 100% serious.

There are a lot of good women shooters and it's fun during the McDonald's All American game to see the women's winner compete against the men in a 3pt contest. But that isn't the game.

This isn't sexist it's nature. Men are born more athletic and stronger than women . There are exceptions to all rules but in General bet the men.

Although I agree with you. You saying MEN are SUPERIOR to women. It will offend more people then you can imagine.
