Yep. Knight stunk it up against Princeton except for that last shot.

People often forget about that team, but I think they also forget about Brandon Knight as a player. He has the highest season scoring average of any player at UK under Calipari. And while Aaron Harrison deservedly gets praise for his clutch shots last year, Knight had a couple of dandies in the 2011 tournament. Princeton & then Ohio State in the Sweet 16, plus his great performances against WVU & UNC.

I always liked to refer to him as "Every other game Brandon." That entire season, even through the tournament run, Knight would go off one game, and pull a 4 for 16 the next. He had two duds against Princeton and tOSU, but came up with HUGE shots against both. That was such an odd team.

They scare me a lot. If there was ever a definition for a "trap game" this is it. If UK doesn't knock down shots from outside they probably go home. This a better version of a gritty UC team.

This is the sweet 16, there is no such thing as a trap game. 2010 will be very fresh in Cal's mind.

Teams that try to run on the Cats have just not been successful this year. Don't see WVU changing who they are. Just need to be able to handle their pressure.

They aren't turning UK over like they did Maryland 20 times. I believe they lead the nation in points off turnovers. The Cats have been good all year not turning the ball over.

Joe Mazzulla nightmares all week.

I have watch WVA a few times this year because I like Huggins. I always like they ho hard his teams play. So I have seen them playing really well and then seen them play really bad. I thought the Maryland game was more toward the best they can play.

I dont see WVA winning. I say cats by 15 but the game will tight until the last 7 minutes.

What WVA has to do to win. - Everything that UC did, BUT put the ball in the bucket.

The last time Kentucky lost was because of the guard play of UConn. Speed it up or play it slow, it doesn't matter. If WVU gets great play from its guards this will be a close game.

The WVU big guy is a beast.

This game scares me because of the following reasons.

Obviously WV will play the best game of the yr.

Their guards are really good

Have a good big man

Pressure, Pressure, Pressure (how will we respond)

Huggins like him or not is a great X/O coach and motivator

Its the NCAA tourny, anything can happen and the team with most talent and highest seed dont always win. Ask Villanova or Duke from last yr.

Kentucky 76-64.

Be sure the medical kit is stocked. It will be physical.

Cal beat Huggins in 2003 as well by 19 while at Memphis. Record is 2-8 and 1-1 while at UK. Cal called Huggins a few weeks ago and told him he thought they would be in the same bracket.

You are correct good research you should work for CBS they were the ones that gave the 1-8 stat. thanks

It will be 2010 all over again. WVU will shut down the lanes, they will collapse when the ball goes inside, and UK will be ice cold from 3 point range. That 2010 was loaded. No way WVU should have won that game, but they did.

This is the sweet 16' date=' there is no such thing as a trap game. 2010 will be very fresh in Cal's mind.[/quote']

I don't believe in trap games either but there are a few coaches who can find the magic lineup to take Cal down regardless of how good their team is on the year. Huggins is one, Calhoun was another.

Baylor has beaten WVU by about 40 points combined in 3 games over the last few weeks.

How do they compare with how UK plays?

WVU dared Maryland to shoot 3's last night...reminded me of 2010 a lot.

WCS, KAT, Dakahri, Trey ALL need to finish at the rim...can't miss or give away easy points at the rim.
