The man hasn't achieved anything since he's been here. Ashland isn't Wheelersburg, ill take my chances on a new coach. It can't get any worse than this season, which was the worst season in Ashlands history.

True not Wheelersburg but they are very similar, both have great tradition and win a lot year in and year out.. Every thing I`ve herd about coach Biggs and what`s been going on at Ashland , sounds just like what I herd about Coach Barrick and Wheelersburg. Just pointing out it`s very similar , and hasn't worked out real good for Wheelersburg . I know you want Biggs out, I feel he should keep his job. If he does go , hope it works out for Ashland, just not when they play Greenup.

If all of this is true, since you want the Greenup coach gone, maybe Greenup can hire Biggs..

I would take Biggs , or Kidwell from Russell. You cant tell me if Biggs was at Greenup this year ,they wouldn't have won at lest 20 games. With the talent Greenup had. But Yes I`d be good with that. MY top choice would be the old Wheelersburg coach Tom Barrick, he`s available right now. I know what he did over there. Made the state many times, and in Ohio that`s the final 4. One good thing about living on the ohio river , can see Basketball in both states .

Biggs may just run "all of that talent" off. There isn't a lack of talent at Ashland, but there is a lack of kids that want to play for him.

I've been hard on coach Biggs this year, but I really do wish him the best. I have no doubts that he is a good person and cares about the kids. Which is obviously the main priority.

But things have progressively went downhill since he took the reigns. My comments may come off as harsh at times, but I don't dislike the man at all. I just don't feel like he's the right coach for Ashland. Hopefully he will be a home run hire for someone.

Will they go after Adam Howard?

He would make a great coach for Ashland, but I believe he has higher asperations than coaching high school ball. He knows his basketball and is young, his best bet is working through the college ranks in my opinion. I would love to have him at Ashland, but that would be selfish of me, at this point in time.

I understand how you feel , and I`m the same with Tackett , He`s prob a good guy, just not a coach, and this is all about coaching. Sounds like Biggs is old school type , with rules and stuff. In my OP kids are way to soft and sensitive these day`s, and I blame parents for that. Old school coach`s seem to have trouble these days, coach get`s mad , kids go home and cry to mom and dad, then there is a problem. Times have changed good or bad, and a good coach needs to change a little too, IF coach Biggs does get fired, may be he will change a few things, could help him in the long run. From just what I have herd my son would not have a prob playing for him, but some might. same for me not personal , just coaching . I was raised that you don't have to like your coach, Its his team, his rules, and don't come home crying about him. And if a kid really loves the game they will play for anybody, if not (love the game) they prob wont play. I think it`s a good life lesson, cant always quite your job if you don't like the boss. Well guess you can, might not work out to well.

Progressively downhill? Ashland has been in the regional finals 3 of the past 4 years prior to this season. That's pretty consistent.

I would hire Evan Faulkner tomorrow.

Sad to think that this country, even those in Ky have a tough time living by standards. I used to have students say "Get with it it is the 70's", later, " Get with it it is the 80's", then the 90's and so on. Standards do not change, only the attitudes of the individuals who think they are so good they are above standards. If you cannot live by the standards set by the coach, leave the gym.

Downhill yes, no doubt about it. Zero regional championships during Bigg's tenure is a long time without a championship compared to previous coaches. The worst start and worst season in school history speaks volumes by itself, but when you factor in everything else, yes, I believe the program is in much worse shape than it was when he was hired.

People can claim that the talent level is down, kids are soft these days, etc. But those are just excuses along with some people turning a blind eye because they would love to see Ashland fail, which is understandable. What it all boils down to is that if you can't win 10 games at Ashland in a season, can't win a regional title in 10 years, then your obviously doing something wrong.

Any chance Coach Kidwell' date=' who was just let go at Russell, will be contacted?[/quote']

Doubtful.

Just want you to know I`m not one who want`s to see Ashland fail. Only VS Greenup. And yes kids are softer for the most part theses days.

I don't believe you do, I wasn't directing that statement at anyone in particular. I agree about kids these days not having the drive that they used to have, that's a topic for another thread. The reason I dismiss that excuse when someone uses it for coach Biggs however is because it is what it is, its not just a problem at Ashland, everyone deals with it, so imo its not an excuse.
