March 14, 201511 yr Since my 2 favorite MASH and Andy Griffith characters have already been mentioned I'll go with Walter "Radar" O'Reilly and Ernest T. Bass, who only appeared in 6 episodes but after Barney may be the most talked about character. Earnest T was incredible Such an embarrassment of riches in the Andy Griffith Show. I'm going to have to add Floyd the barber and Gomer Pyle to the list.

March 14, 201511 yr Almost forget about Doug Wilson. The last few seasons of Weeds really took a turn for the worst, but any scene that he was in went a long way to salvage the episode.

Ray Barone, Bob Newhart. Actually Gunsmoke was overtaken by Law and Order as the longest running live action series and The Simpsons has them both beat.
